Erki has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Allan Simonsen

It would be a bit daft to ask who is he, I checked his website already and I know it's a Dane...

...but why does he race in Australia? I read that he wanted to be an "international" racing driver but why Australia? Why didn't he choose to pursue a career in North America, there are also quite a few opportunities for it.

RotorFan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
It seems to be a second home for him!

I was slightly annoyed that TEN didn't talk more about or interview the codrivers this Sandown. I don't think we once saw Lyons or Simonsen, or Weel/Pretty.

Allan races extensively in Australia as well as Europe. In Australia he competes in V8 Supercars and Australian GT (Porsche 996 GT3 and CCC Ferrari 360GT). Internationally he has a number of programs - Le Mans Series (Autorlando Porsche GT3 RSR), European FIA GT Championship (JMB Ferrari 430) and FIA GT (Scuderia Ecosse Ferrari 430GT2 - Spa 24hr). He also has a new program involving Asia Pacific GT.

Why is Allan in Australia? We'll he alternates between Melbourne and England a great deal to manage the race programs he is involved with. In Australia V8 Supercars get the greatest media coverage and attract significant budgets. Allan is obviously trying to secure a full-time drive in the Level 1 v8 Supercar Championship and his appointment to Triple Eight Race Engineering to join Craig Lowndes/Jamie Whincup and richard Lyons for the two long distance enduros, Sandown and Bathurst, reflects his talent. he did not put a foot wrong last Sunday at Sandown and managed to haul the #88 car from 17th (where he started) up to 3rd before handing over to Lyons for the second half of the race.

You can see Allan's extensive bio on his website.

You can register on Allan's website for his free e-news (allansimonsen.com) and listen to audio interviews through Coopers Racing website (coopersracing.com.au). Allan often joins the team at Radio HOTLAP which you can listen to at radiohotlap.com or search for Radio HOTLAP on th iTunes Music Store.

Simonsen is an international racing driver. He has raced this year in FIA GT3 (F430 Challenge) and LMES (997 GT3RS). He was also tied up with Mark Coffey Racing when they did a little bit of Nations Cup a couple of years ago and kinda just stayed.
