The grey/blue was '94 and then in '95 it was a bit like the Opel colours, white with yellow flashes on the sides......

http://www.supertouringregister.com/...r/model/14.php As Craner said, it's better to see them in the hands of a serious enthusiast who'll both maintain and use them than have them stuck in a workshop gathering dust, or worse, broken up for parts...I reckon in a few years time, there could be a lot of interest in 'Historic Supertouring' cars- it'll be interesting to see the response to the Silverstone race next year- my first thought was that it's a bit early for this yet, but.... I suspect he must have a fair collection- going off-topic, presumably he's still got all of the MG-Lolas chassis he's used in the LMS, and if I recall rightly, he originally owned more than one of the various Saleens campaigned by Graham Nash Motorsport and RML in British & FIA GT a few years back.... Saw one of his 95 cavaliers at Oulton Park in a Formula Saloon race a few years ago. He was a beating alot more modern super touring cars. Car looked great, and in very tidy condition! |

Last I saw of this car was when it was advertised for sale a few years ago, I wondered what happened to it.
Blazerteam, I've stolen some of your pictures for the ST Register website. If you can update any more details let me know. If the car is ready in time and the new owner fancies a trip to the UK we'd love to see it at next year's Silverstone Classic race. As it's for the David Leslie Memorial Trophy it's only fitting that the car he scored his first BTCC win in should be there, especially if it's back in 93 Ecurie Ecosse livery. |

Is this also the ecurie ecosse car Tiff Needell drove in 1993 during the Toca shoot out? Who could ever forget the little incident he had with Mr 'it wasn't me' Mansell?

No, that was the sister car to the David Leslie car which won that race. Not many people remember he won that one, haha.

I was standing at the bridge that day and the thud when Mansell clattered it was something else. There was a massive crowd in attendance.

Tiff Needell's view on the accident (source BBC.co.uk): My view is that I braked to avoid Mansell when he came whinging across the road in front of me, but if I'd known he'd blame me for the accident afterwards... I'd have accelerated into him and done a proper job!

I know I took photos of the early stages of the accident- I don't recall whether they were any good and I think I possibly missed the impact with the bridge though. At the risk of taking the thread utterly off-topic I'll see if I can find them... |
