Sale of Lola T 492 to Alan or Harry Humberstone?

This is repeated on my long running Lola T492 thread here, but I hope this thread will catch some 'extra' attention.

I am trying to find who sold a Lola T492 Sports 2000 race car in about 1987/88 to Harry Humberstone or his son Alan.
The car was used to provide a clean tub to re-build the Humberstone's Karmann Ghia Super Saloon that originally sat on Tony Dickinson's Lola, T 490 HU 6.

I want to find the chassis number of the donar car.

I now own this car and I am tracking the history of it in the late 80's.Alan Humberstone cannot recall the seller or the chassis number in a recent conversation with him.

Maybe some one on here can!

Graham.

Yes, I know, just being a little cheeky!

I also know the real enthusiasts are on here too as proven by my other Lola thread. My fingers are crossed.

Sending this question back to the top/first page for one more lap, then I'll consider the chase for the real chassis number done-for!

Popping this request back to the top incase it jolts someone's memory.

The sale of the 'unkown' chassis to repair the damaged car is all I'm after so I can try to trace the chassis number.

The tub is drilled for a plate but does not have one.

I believe it was a complete S2000 T 492 when it was stripped and parts transfered/modified.

Anyone have any clues please?

Graham.

keep plugging away with the request. It took some time but I had amazing results on a question that I though was impossible on my car
Silly question but have you contacted the sports 2000 club, mike turner or chris snowden

Chap called Brian Davies, who I think was 'southern-based' was selling a T492 in early 1980. Long-shot, I know...

Thank you both for the responses. I will follow them up.

The S2000 people by and large will not 'talk' to me because I have ''butchered'' a T 492 to a 911 engined hillclimb Sports Libre.

The car was very modified in the tub areas when I bought it, and nothing in the suspension save the roll bars was Lola.

I have had fantastic support on my car in 10/10's (see other massive thread) so I thought I would try the enquiry again, and you have not let me down!

It looks like this now:
