My thanks to the lads who looked after me at Warwick Bridge, a very enjoyable day for my first "live" day at Oulton.
The Pick ups are built like mini tanks as they clout the concrete walls at Rockingham at over 130mph without injury to the drivers and are usually quickly repairable. The YouTube clip is typical as was the incident when car 63 bounced off the tyre wall after spinning coming out of Druids. A couple of strips of gaffer tape being all that was needed for repairs.
BTW Darren H it does only rain in the north ... it was blue skies all the home to the "posh" south.
Cheers
Ian

and i would like to thank all the marshals for a good job
ps im never working a post again when gorden knight is flagging he is just a big magnet lol and well done to all the flags not one had time to fall asleep all day lol

The yellow 2CV that crashed is mine!
Hi
As the driver of yellow 2CV, No 47, firstly I want to say a very big thank you to the marshalls who were so quickly on the crash scene at Oulton Park on Saturday. This was my first real accident in the five years since I started racing and it was a very scary moment. You were all brilliant and very efficient - and sorry you had so much clearing up to do! Next time I race I'll keep a vacuum cleaner in the car and help you....!!!
I also feel very grateful that the posters on the doors of my car advertising my new book. "Dead Tomorrow" were not prophetic!!!!
Whoever took those two photos posted of my car going on its side - would it be possible to have permission to put them on my blog ( www.peterjames.com) - I would happily credit them and make an extra donation to the Marshalls' Fund.
All very best
Peter James

I was the IO on Avenue, we came to assist the Old Hall Marshals with the incident, The photos are taken by my wife (A sequence of 16 images), and those 2 are heavily cropped and ok for web use, but not ver good quality.
You can use the image(s) on your blog, please credit the images with "Photograph by Debbie Roberts" If you PM me your email I will try some photo trickery next week and see if I can get a decent size printable file out of the originals.

No problem, you had several TEAMS of marshals turn up to the incident from Old Hall and Avenue, we appear from everywhere when required!

So is the racing for pleasure, or research for your next book, or both?
In a spooky coincidence, i've just started reading 'The Truth' but will be looking for your new one next.

lol, yes nice to meet you Ian, although as I said at the time, I don't really class Cheshire as all that "North" coming from Barnsley.
An enjoyable day on what can be and mainly was a quiet post, glad we could have a laugh to pass the time.
No doubt see you at Rockingham before the end of the year.

The racing is my relaxation! Well, that was the theory...!!!!
Hope you enjoy The Truth! Coincidence indeed....Perhaps my title Not Dead Enough would have been more appropriate on the door panels...!
