Hehe, so this is the future I wonder? They all agree to a communal launch date to show "unity", but then have individual "pre-launches"?

I wonder how the teams will think they will save money by having a joint launch? when you can launch your 2010 contender at home and not have to travel with crew, cars etc..
Why don't they just do a low key launch of their car at the factory...

I suppose the launch also coincides with a test at the Valencia circuit or at least it should!

That's what I was hinting to in my first post. I find it funny that the teams still want to reduce costs, yet teams shipping their new cars from all over to this one place would surely only make costs worse?

Bernie (FOM) pays for transport, and if it's a large media event, then you can be sure that Bernie will have those costs covered.
Also (from Autosport article):
"It is understood that the event will take place in Valencia in late January, prior to the first official 2010 test at the Spanish city's nearby track a few days later".

My guess is USF1 won't be there either, fingers crossed on the first race....

I assume that is some sort of a joke?
I find it hard to believe that they can't even produce a rolling chassis to show the media.
If they don't have a chassis built by Jan then they are already in a world of hurt.

It's top secret though! Early they show their car, more time for other teams to copy.
Common launch, demo => old car painted in new liveries doing burnouts in a city centre. Sorted then.

Hardly the end of the world but a bit dissapointing none the less. Will FOTA ever be able to do something where they all agree?
