I have to admit I have looked high and low, but I can only find little to no info on this series. When I first heard of this "Dakar Series," I naturally assumed that it was going to be an annual series of off-road races/rallies similar in spirit to the Dakar. In the first year we apparently had the "Central European Rally" followed by the "Pax Rally" in 2008. However, neither returned in 2009, instead we had the "Silk Way Rally."
Can someone give me a clear definition? I mean, is there some sort of championship the ASO is working on like the ACO has with the LMS and ALMS (Le Man) and the IRL has with IndyCar (Indy 500) that follows the spirit of the Dakar, or is there just a random set of rallies per year?
Or am I just missing the point?
