Oh that's easy, any of the big consultancy firms (Accenture, CSC, etc). They'll happily have you and let you pick up experience as you go along, in fact gaining too much experience may even be detrimental to your progress. If you got too good at IT you'd never get the proper jobs like Assistant Project Manager and roles with 'Architect' in the title. You'd probably get to work on something fairly simple to start with too, like the NHS systems or securing a government ID card database. But don't worry, the system is set up so that they can literally throw billions at this sort of a thing and train up a few n00bs along the way

At Lunchbreak I was probably attending the lengthy CSCC driver's briefing (where lots of new to CSCC-ers asked the same question about pit-stop procedure 3 times over) - and where I heard the most unusual briefing I've ever heard....."For Classic K - remember you have an elderly Aston Martin with you - he has drum brakes - do not pass him into a corner and stand on your brakes - or you will be his brakes....." |

Hehe, I'm getting a sticker made up for that on my car 'WARNING DO NOT PASS INTO CORNERS (OR ON STRAIGHTS) MAY USE YOU AS BRAKES/BARRIER!' cheapest race win mod ever... Sort of the thing TGF had by reputation too.

Unfortunatly,Rocket Science is not something a lot of drivers understand!
[Fortunatly, doing as you should during an SC intervention is nothing to do with Rocket Science, strange that!] |

Start your own company and after a few years you'll be able to pay any team you like to run your car. I have known people start racing, win their first championship in their first season, repeat that the next year, go on to othe championships and do the same thing multiple times. The best they can get is some sponsorship towards the car and doing race driving tuition/ARDS courses etc. |

I suspect very few drivers actually get handed a cheque from the team they drive for, the team may "subsidise" them but they still bring a wedge of cash with.
The regular "professional" are very good at making sponsorship deals that attract more money than the drive costs, so they are in effect "paid". You don't need to be that good at driving to earn a living, just a good businessman. Same as being an IT consultant really. So yeah, go for it, at 27 you're too late to be a formula star but buy your way into Porsches or GTs ad then blag the money!!! |
