We all know didnt matter how many times it was stripped all the time AH's then sponsors was going to foot the whole bill for the cost of running final event at Brands the Saxo/106 (people in the know will know what i mean) would always of been found legal! and where did that get the orgs? No where cos AH's sponsors pulled the plug on their money AH won the championship before the last round and orgs had to foot the bill for Brands and had double yoker all over their faces. All to get newer cars into stockhatch oh and the money.

Yes great driver like yourself ! I remember your 106 group N 1400 cup rocket ship

I remember AH comming to Mondello that year (when he won the S/H) when it was a 2 day event for the British/Irish and he won the first day but on the second day Eoin Murray was leading till Horsley put him into the pit wall, so the old 205 was just as quick back then and that 205 I can tell you is as straight as an arrow, so maybe it was the driver. I've heard all about engines sitting under a bench that WAS in the Saxo, but all it takes is one person that cant win to start a little gossip and it just spreads like wild fire.

Can we please get back on topic.

i'm sure Jamie Lea won the first S/H Final at Mondello in 2004, i also remember him getting hit up the back end by Eoin Murry in the same race.

So as my post above points out the 205's were still as qick as ah's saxo. I thought Murray won the first day but I have been proven wrong.

How many years was the Open Championship around ???

Participation in motor sport in general by competitors is on the decline.
In so many ways competitors costs have been allowed to escalate beyond the financial reach of enough people.
Motor sport only works with a packed day of races and full grids, to entertain a sufficient crowd, to get that you need to encourage competitors in and that means making it financially attractive.

Circuits and organisers have to recognise this and start again from the ground up with imaginative ways of stripping out costs to the bare minimum for competitor and spectator alike.
