Something Completely Different
Here we have a live web cam for Port Canaveral Florida, about 30 miles N of my place. There are actually several different web cams, depending upon the time of day and port activity.
Cruise ships arrive FRI, SAT & SUN ~ 06h30 (all times GMT -4hrs)
Depart the same days ~16h00
After clicking scroll down for map(s)
Also available on the screen are links to Port Everglades (Ft.Lauderdale) Florida and New York Harbor.

J. R. Eike Photography, St. Louis, Mo. 1914-1917
The image quality is excellent as these were glass plate negatives.
Unfortunately there is little other information other than the locale (St.Louis Missouri).
If the first ones don't grab you, scroll down to the "Motordrome" series for some vintage motorcycles.
At the bottom of the page there is a link to the origin of the pix.

Don't you just hate it when that happens?
These Are Pictures of Flooding After The Recent Hurricaine, "Irene". They were Taken By A Media Crew In the NE corner of the US in the State of VERMONT.
Vermont is called "The Green Mountain" state and has next to nothing in flat land.
The majority of these are along Rte. 100 from Waterbury South.

This is the crowd before a riot in Vancouver .
Put your cursor anywhere in the crowd and double-click a couple of times and then use the scroll button in the center of your mouse.
You can zero in on one single face. The clarity is unbelievable.
This is the photo taken by Port Moody photographer Ronnie Miranda that appeared in the Tri-City News 24-June.
The final hi-res file is 69,394 X 30,420 pixels or 2,110 megapixels.
This is actually scary. You can see - perfectly - the faces of every single
individual - and there were thousands!

Animal Antics
Moving video of 2 elephants reunited after 20 years. The Dallas Zoo had an elephant, also named Jenny, who was alone for 20 years after they had sent one elephant to another zoo for mating. There was talk about sending her to a zoo in Mexico , but the outcry from animal lovers prevented that. Now, finally, there are 2 more elephants. Can you imagine the loneliness these animals felt to have been isolated for so long when they are naturally loving toward all members of their troop. At least now they each have companions to spend their days with.
Jenny and Shirley were elephants at the same circus when Jenny was a calf, and Shirley was in her twenties. The two lived one winter together, but then were separated twenty-two years ago.
It's very rare for elephants to display this kind of emotion in captivity, and it's probably the first time such a thing has been documented on film.
Just remarkable! And absolutely worth the watch....

They should do, just about. I'm a bit concerned for the window cleaner though!

Put your arrow on the picture, click and hold and see spin round the whole of London. You can zoom in if you have a roller or a ball on your mouse.
Just in front of the "Millenium" footbridge, over the Thames, to the West (left), on the nearside bank, you will see the ring of the roof of Shakespeare's Globe theatre. The only thatched roof in London. That's where I am at present, doing a nightshift.

Quite good. One must also use the right sidebar in order to drag the image up so the explanatory text is available.

Just checked this out and very cool. I went to the link prior to reading your post and knew the Globe was somewhere near but couldn't find it. It was one of the few places I got to visit when I was there. Had a couple pints, some chips and some Shakespeare on the Thames. Nothing says "London" more than that, to me.
Thanks for posting.

Which they had used it for the fencing during the Olympics, it would have been stunning.
