Yes I am aware of that little trick as well but the secondary drawbar will by-pass security balls locked into your draw bar, and the ground down ball is a dead give away to the police although they are usually covered.

Al, that's an old gamekeeper trick that the local one used to use until not long ago with a trip wire to stop people nicking his pheasants, set at chest hight so the foxes didn't set it off.
By all accounts a hundred years ago they used live cartridges !!!
Mm-mm maybe a live cartridge might stop the trailer nicking

I'll second that! Only problem is, in this bonkers a*se about face society we have these days, we all know who'd end up in trouble when some poor, innocent scumbag criminal got blasted by one...

Back in the seventies, my dad had a newsagents shop in Bootle (a particularly rough area of Liverpool - and that's saying something!), and it was forever being broken into by these lowlifes. My uncle who used to work there also, and was a bit of a lad, so to speak, decided he'd had enough - so he used to put live wires (mains voltage!) to all the internal door handles when he locked up every night! That would've given the b*stards a fright eh?

Upon seeing this one time, the local plod warned him that he could be sued if some scumbag got fried breaking in! I can't print what his response to that was, suffice to say it wasn't a response that contained a lot of sympathy for any potentiel thief!

Of course, the world made more sense back then, and if a scumbag 'fell down the stairs your honour... three times, whilst trying to escape', then that was that, and no more was said about it. These days, it would be one of us, the victims, in the dock, for doing no more than defending our own!

Apologies for going off on one... and off topic!
