I put chicken wire in front of the TV and shout, "Overtook under waved yellows!" into the remote. Disconcerting to the kids when I'm watching CBeebies ...

Johansen2000 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
My girls often play a racing game with one of them racing and the other being a marshal! They both know all the hand signals and all the marshalling rules. Does get interesting though when they both wanna be mashal..... Maybe I have trained them too well in the marshalling ways......

Sounds like my daughter s well. My son is even worse, we have to tell him when the safety car is out so he can come and watch the TV. He goes back to playing when it comes back in.

I also do the stones and bottles thing, plus check suspect marks on the road (and recently at home) with my shoe and tutted to myself that it was oil, and only yesterday I drove past Hall & Hall in Bourne when an employee was unloading a single-seater and had this urge to stop and ask if he wanted assistance. Plus on the way back to Cardiff I passed an accident which had just happened, and as the policeman was sweeping the debris, I wanted to join in to speed up the process. I'm just so pleased that I'm not the only one with these 'habits' when I'm not wearing orange (or black).

Yep, here's another - guilty as charged.
Kicks stones off the tarmac, stares at/tests with finger any fluid spills (is it oil / water/ coolant?), inspects fire bottles, picks up random bolts/nuts/tiewraps/unidentifiable bits of cars, estimates speed of quadbikes and probable age of driver, gives directions to tourists, etc, etc.

Slightly off-topic, but my best score far ON-circuit:
Was silly enough to volunteer for Deputy Chief Pits at Oulton Time Attack last year -
Young man walks out of garage to cross live pitlane -
No shirt, only shorts and flip-flops
Camera round his neck
Pint of beer in one hand
Lit cigarette in other hand
2-year-old child on shoulders
Strangely, he wasn't happy when I asked him to return with all the above to the public area. Just another day in orange...

you have the bookmarks for all the met office weather forecasts for race tracks in your phone, you see a car on the hard shoulder and think "way off the track, safe to continue"

My best one is at my work place, a certain car parts retailer, often bottles of oil leak all over the floor. I'm always moaning that we haven't got any cement dust for the job and always end up having to wipe it up with tissues!

I think this meme is spreading!! Look at a recent Tweet that @Guysmith16 was passing round:

@Driver_Problems the cop you've been following pulls onto exit ramp. You here a Littlevoice say "pace car is in!!" #DriverProblems
