The deal would have seen its high-performance arm Mercedes AMG in Germany supply engines and technical assistance through its Customer Sports program, linked to long-time Ford squad Stone Brothers Racing

“Obviously there are people and teams who want MB in V8 Supercars, but there will not be a factory team."
Leaving the door open?

Bit of a shame that Mercedes is not joining the circus.
Interesting that SBR was going to be the team.

So Ford stayed loyal to SBR and cast off T8, then SBR try to ditch Ford for Merc.

Fair point - maybe the benefits of Ford loyalty don't stack up all that well for the team?

Good decision for mine.
The Erebus and SBR link up was interesting.
Would be good to see Mercedes get more involved in the GT championship and Bathurst 12 Hour rather than running a silouette COTF that has no connection to the cars they sell.

T%his comment makes me wonder if you are anti motorsport.
There is nothing good about this decission from a motorsport point of view

well make up your mind, you questions SBR's loyalty to Ford and then you suggest ford are justified to not be loyal to SBR
