From another thread I have found out that as a trainee marshal the MSA do not recognise our existence. We are still covered for insurance purposes by our MSA licence card. But as the card has no registration number we do not exist in the eyes of the MSA.
I phoned the MSA over something once and they asked for my licence number, I told them I was a trainee and was politely informed that I was not able to Marshal until I fill in a form and return it to them. What did I get, an application for a Rally Marshal!
Perhaps just perhaps when a new marshal turns up for their first day and atre issued with a licence they should be given provisional licence number and their details sent onto the MSA. This would also help the MSA keep a track on numbers, how people are progressing and make us feel

wanted.
