I suspect the HPD would look good with most liveries, but ESM's follows the lines around the cockpit really well.

Yeah it was always gonna fit pretty much everything but this looks just as good as in the (more green) initial ESM-themed renderings posted ages ago, which never happens. Even I didn't believe in it when I saw the chassis bare, as good as it was already. Great job gang.

One of the reasons this car looks so good is the constant angle from the nose right up to the top of the screen. Most of the other closed top cars have a distinct change of angle from bodywork to glass (polycarbonate, whatever).

Also think that the likeness factor comes from windows itself that seem larger than in Oak and other coupes, more like something you would've seen in old Lola. Of course, being covered mostly in black and the angle you mentioned also helps to blend it all together Will be interesting to see what they'll do with Patron for LM, back to 2010 Highcroft ways or something else? Or will they be able to just keep it there like Rebellion & Arctic Velvet. Though that is relatively obscure in relation to something that says TEQUILA in it Rebellion did shave AV off for Bahrain though so maybe ACO noticed it only then... |

As much as I like ESM I have to say that livery is not elegant at all.

I think that they didn't put the word "Vodka" on there to keep the sponsor on the car. They did completely remove the Arctic Velvet sponsorship in Bahrain due to that country's restrictions on hard liquor advertizing.

Anyhow, if one would suggest that removing that "alcoholic word" like whiskey or whatever from the text would somehow make it more okay, ESM could surely just enter the car as it is for LM and remove the word Tequila. Call it "Patron ESM". Now, you probably ask "well why didn't Highcroft do that" - I guess they just had the primary charity deal with Malaria No More? Not sure if Patron wanted global presence at that stage of the game anyway Extreme Speed Motorsports has lately been rebranded as "Tequila Patron ESM", so how the title shows up on ACO entry lists for Le Mans should tell some of the story already. Not to derail this thread all to hell, there were naked women illustrated on a Porsche 911 GT2 car at LM in '98. Granted, this is over 15 years on and nowadays it'd be almost certain that the owner of that car if he showed up with that color scheme today, he'd be told to go back and make it "PG" rated just as how the WWE has been since July of 2008.
I don't know how he'd got away with that one back in '98, but that's the reverse of what would happen in North America, where the hard liquor ad would be allowed to stay aside from a couple of southeastern US states, but the nude women would have to be made PG rated for sure. |

Yeah don't think the relatively mild cartoon images of that Haberthur entry, or whatever the team was called, still quite match the Bimmer here

IMO, the car looks better with the gloss black/lime green on it than just bare carbon.

Black has a slimming effect, thats probably why the cockpit doesnt look so bad. Still dont like how high up the noses are on these new cars. Equal height with the fenders just throws off the proportions. Looks like the roof is sitting atop the car instead of in it.

Ferrari never had to blank out their team name in programmes or whatever when they were still sponsored by Marlboro, either. |

Glad that ESM's HPD ARX-04b was wrapped on that psychedelic Patron livery! Damn, so sexy looking!

Bruichladdich released a line of bottled water in order to keep the name on the side of the car at Le Mans. Maybe Patron Cactus Vitamin water?

However they do it I hope they can sort out some workaround. I'd be gutted not to see that livery at Le Mans.
