Going back to the question of endorsements and how these will be known etc....

I raised the question at a meeting yesterday where an MSA representative was present. Apparently the MSA Steward / relevant person has a number which they can text a driver's license number to in order to see if they have any endorsements. I then asked if said person is expected to text every license holder's license number to this service or only text if they have a reason to be suspicious and the answer was only if they have a reason to be suspicious so not sure how well this is going to work.

Long term the aim is to have all card swipers apparently with additional information on (eg medical history). Again the question was asked "what about the practicalities of this in a Welsh forest, for example?" and didn't receive a clear answer.

Technology eh?

I suspect the only time a suspicion would occur is subsequent to a suspiscious event, so not too many texts then.

Presumably in the middle of a Welsh forest (damn those Welsh ones) the crews attending an incident (assuming this is your point) would do what they always do, because they've never had access to licences anyway.

Anyway I've got mine and Aeroflot/BMI permitting I'll be presenting it at Castle Combe on Monday.

Happy Easterl

Exactly Peter, think your second sentence hits the nail on the head

There's circumstances away from Welsh forests too but think you know what I mean

Enjoy Combe on Monday!

Still only have a temporary licence; not sleeping at all well. Nothing to do with licence. A nice shiny new Blue Book would help I'm sure.

Our temp licenses came through yesterday...bit longer than the email said they would be but never mind.

Mine's fine (non-race Nat B til do ARDS in a couple of months) but Sam's which was a renewal for a Race Nat B has come through as a non-race Nat B too - possible I ticked the wrong box but was a renewal ie same license number plus they've taken payment for a Race Nat B - grrr. Glad he's not now racing on Monday as saves some hassle!

Do keep an eye on your temporary licences, they have an expiry date on them and I've seen some that have already expired which might cause you a problem when you come to sign on.

In the world of IT, we have an error code for that kind of thing.

The whole licence saga bores me. I was supposed to be one of their online guinea pigs... Im still awaiting a proper licence rather than a piece of A4.

MSA need auditing they do a very very poor job all round IMHO.

My own GP’s practise is being very unhelpful. They will do it, but at their convenience. That is at a time which means I have to take half a day off work, for which as a freelance IT consultant I won’t get paid. Also they want to charge me over £100 for the privilege. Like most organisations in the public sector they don’t seem to have grasped the concept that if someone is paying you to do something then you owe them some service.

If anyone can recommend a doctor who will do medicals at a reasonable rate and more importantly at a convenient time then please let me know.

Andrew Cherry
Call DR Tew **** *** ****, nice friendly chap, I had mine done yesterday and charged me £40, where as MSA approved ones wanted over £100 plus vat.

I still don't know if it's actually "gone". The payment section kept telling me there was an error, but not what it was.
Then when I logged back on to try again it says I've already made an application.
I can't log-in to the members area because I can't remember my log-in but the E-mail they sent me that should arrive within 24 hours still hasn't got here 2 days later.

Unfortunately not, I'm at Lydden as I am comp sec for BARC SEC and we are running a meeting that weekend.

Brands is sounding good though, slighlty annoyed that they're the same weekend, but there we go.

Phil, seems there are a few Vee guys who are still trying to get licenses for Brands! If it's gone through though you should just about be alright, as sure they say 15 working days....

A the end of April my Dad and my brother sent off their licence applications so they could test with me, and they got their licences back in 5 days (including a weekend).

So, I'd start pestering the MSA every day until they remember to do your licences, because waiting since March isn't on!
