What this means is that we won't see the extra 911's at Daytona that seem to show up every year - Leaving the door open for some teams from across the pond hopefully. I do wonder if anybody will make changes to a GT3 to make it eligible for USCC and run Daytona and Sebring only. |

Accidents can occur when the cars are the same speed or if they are going at different speeds. It makes no difference. To see DP/P2/PC/GTLM all mixed together potentially racing for overall positions in addition to class is a great thing I think. |

If they were all equal, at all parts of the track, you would be right. But it would be near impossible for that to happen... how would you ever get a GT car to corner like a Proto? If you wanted equal lap times, the GT would be faster down the straight, and then the only way for the Proto to get by is to dive bomb in the corners...

They've managed 218.229mph with the Ford EcoBoost DP. Almost as fast as the Porsche 917/30 speed from Talladega in 1975.

Marshall Pruett just announced on MWM that Muscle Milk/Pickett Racing will not be in Indycar next year. They will be doing "something interesting" in sportscars, most likely not until 2015 and not in TUSCC.

Almost certainly saving up money for WEC LMP1 with HPD ARX-04a, probably with hybrid option. Unless he's going with one of the smaller manufacturers like ADESS?

I think what we've seen is it. The way I read the mention of 2014 was just the car was not incorporating the 2014 changes, whatever they may be, and thus not exactly as it will be in 2014.

I doubt any of the teams could pay for a single race with just the prize money from the whole season put together.

6 wins to pay for 1 using only prize money.

$35K to win in an ALMS or $35-50K to win a race in Grand Am--one race win probably wouldn't cover Audi's or Toyota's tire bills for a normal WEC race weekend, or the tire bills for a typical NASCAR Sprint Cup team's weekend tire usage.
Sportscar racing is def. a case where the race purses' prize money funds haven't kept up with the cost of competing. But that's hardly unique in racing. For sure in F1 or NASCAR, a team can't be competitive on prize money alone. There's a reason why NASCAR sponsorship budgets range from $15 million reportely as high as even $35 million USD, and only god knows what such budgets range for a front-running F1 team such as the relatively under-funded Lotus effort, let alone a team like Mercedes-Benz/AMG, Ferrari or Red Bull Racing. |

Prize money comparisons with this year's Sebring & PLM. ALMS also has the privateer bonus for the non-factories. Couldn't find the GA prize money info easily. Anyone have link?

TL;DR Entry fees up, individual race prize money staying the same. Last edited by EricS; 13 Oct 2013 at 19:27. |

Not sure if it had been previously announced but this also confirms the leader lights system and use of car number panels for next year. |
