Or it could be a message for the 919 drivers to read on the grid before the start and again as the Audi overtakes it if the 919's last that long well we will see what happens in a couple of weeks

I though Porsche said they were testing at Circuit de Aragon this week. Apparently they have a test at Paul Ricard next week (20,21,22).
Could it be that Aragon was a "closed" test with Ricard being an "open" test? http://team.fiawec.com/wpphpFichiers...red_030414.pdf |

I guess that the list is not up to date. Audi's planned endurance test in Paul Ricard is missing.

Perhaps they are sharing it with Porsche.
Do you know if it is "open" or "closed"? |

The 908/3 was nothing more than a glorified go cart. I don't recall it being all that competitive either.

Oh! It was on certain tracks (Nurburgring, Targa Florio).

I thought the wink would clarify my attempt at humor. The power to weight ratio alone made the 908/3 very formidable. I seem to recall it doing very well against the Alfas and 512s at the Targa Florio. I hold Porsche in very high regard. It has only been the past fifteen or so years that has made my interest wane. My apologies to everyone for going so far off topic. My hope is for some amount of reliability come Le Mans. I think we are asking a heck of a lot for the 919 to miraculously become easier on its tires. I think our best bet is for a magic genie to appear granting the motorsports team a few wishes. No apology needed! We are in for an interesting Le Mans. The variables alone that are involved in a twenty-four hour race have always interested me. Unfortunately, I fear the 919 team will face far more than their factory competitors.

Yes, it is going to be an uphill struggle for them. I am impressed however, that they are doing quite a bit of testing (this week and next) before the race. Hopefully they will make another leap forward in reliability and platform stability.

They have done a splendid job thus far. As you mentioned, they are doing quite a bit of testing which will only improve their running at Le Mans. They have surprised me out of the gates and will only become stronger.

Yes.
I would guess they tested the new front drive shaft and messed with the wiring to make sure they don't have electrical issues again. No idea what the new issues would be though based on what we've seen so far. |

Good to see they are looking to sharpen up the pitstops. That's free time if they can get the crew more dialled.
