"Les Suisses au Mans" are fuelling - amongst other things - the rumour of a possible interest for Audi to run in the LMP2 category on US soil starting from 2016.

If that rumor means future p2 regs will be based on p1 tubs, I think it is a good thing. Plus if this means future p2 regs will be the basis of proto regs stateside I think it is a win win.

Great, we know what happend to P2 when Porsche entered. For me they should not be allowed into P2, even if the car meets the cost cap it will raise the level of P2 and kill other cars ...

Then again, I'm thinking that Audi wants total domination in the world of sports car racing. Aiming for class wins doesn't excite them in the US. Still, I like the idea of having next-gen LMP2 cars based on LMP1 tubs. |

TUCC P2 SHOULD be the equivalent of WEC P1.
There are already TUSCC only cars being developed anyway such as the Mazda and the Coyote DP. Porsche running their P1 car here would not ruin anything in a Pro class. |

Theyre too slow. A DP car is nearly 10 seconds slower than lmp1. Toyota was also talking lmp2. Maybe Audi wants to run diesel in the class since Mazda is a laugh?

Not sure where to post this but the C6.R ZR1 chassis #006 that SRT have picked up will be getting a 7.0L LS based engine fitted in place of the LS5.5R. Nothing like a spot of hot rodding....

"Les Suisses au Mans" are reporting rumours regarding further possible defections on the entry list for the 2014 LM race:
- Lotus T129 LMP1 (don't tell me you would be surprised) - Murphy Prototypes (struggling to find the budget ?) and ... - the Nissan ZEOD... ? |

Zeod isnt going to miss the race, theyre actually pretty far along in testing. Not anything like the others with financial/legal issues (unless Panoz has an actual case).

I did a quick check in the OHIM database of European community designs, and there doesn't appear to be a community design registration held by panoz in there for the deltawing, also does not appear to be any panoz held design registrations in inpi database of french design registrations so Mr Panoz will be **** out of luck if he thinks that he'll be able to take them to court and get an injunction against use of the delta wing design at le mans. I'm aware that they have a design patent in the US though, but as far as I'm aware nothing of the visible part of the cars design is made in America.
Edit: THE ****ER BLEEPED ME also mr panoz does appear to have a european community design for the abruzzi Edit2: also this does not touch any issues in regards to copyright and that's a completely different test for infringement Last edited by Puzzle; 22 Mar 2014 at 11:30. |

In an interview on endurance-info.com Gerard Neveu is asked about additional constructors. And especially this sentence is interesting:
"Il est vrai que l’on discute avec de nouveaux constructeurs. Tout sera annoncĂ© en temps et en heure. Il y a diffĂ©rents projets pour 2016 et 2017." So they are discussing with potential new constructors for 2016 and 2017. |

But BMW are away of big motorsport activities a long way back, they only doing DTM. If they comeback will be in LMP1 because they don´t have a GT contender. |

Motorsport-Total has some quotes from Neveu, claiming that there's several manufacturers interested in joining the WEC, both in P1 and GTE.
According to rumors, one is Korean (Kia?), one German (BMW? There were rumors before...) and Ferrari is being mentioned as well. One of them is apparently interested in joining "in short-term". There's also new rumors regarding the Nissan P1, it may be powered by the now-obsolete Renault F1 V8 engine and be branded as Infiniti. Exciting times, looks like the WEC may become very huge in just a few years time Last edited by Acid09; 28 Mar 2014 at 17:43. |
