How the hell can you drive like that at night, you can't see a thing, no wonder he went off track at one stage.

Corvette at Le Mans 1960

I don't know if anyone has posted this one anywhere, but it is just a really nice comprehensive review of Corvette's effort at Le Mans in 1960 and it is narrated by Dr. Dick Thompson, one of the Corvette drivers at the race that year.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSetwzIeSP0

Anyway, this is the link to Part 1 and you can figure out the rest from there.

Perhaps its because I'm 15 and childish, but I never get tired of watching Jon Field taking it to the Audis at the beginning of Utah 2008 ALMS. 1:58, thats the pass.

Sorry its modern.

There seems to be something about Miller Motorsport Park and the ALMS, ive lost count of how many times ive watched the start of the 2007 and 2008 races, i agree about 2008, i couldnt believe my eyes, the Lola AER was simply staggering, i still believe a AER engined LMP1 Lola coupe run by a good team, on michelin tyres with good drivers could take the fight to the 908's, R15's and Aston Martin Lola's of this world.

i wish i could also find the video of the Intersport P2 Lola fending off the P2 Porsche at the 2006 petit le mans as well, my god that was one hell of a scrap and it went on for a long time as well, that well and truly kept me on the edge of my seat.

Ahh, I love the late 90's Panoz and Porsches.

I know it isn't a sportscar, but my favourite engine sounds has to be the BRM V16: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRSYTw9IBxg

If it's growling engines you like, here is some footage of a few of Jim Hall's Chaparrals. These cars had some nice big Chevy engines that could growl with the best of them. The first link is the 1967 Brands Hatch 1000 km winning Chaparral 2F.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWlfk...eature=related

the second link is the Chaparral 2E in the garage warming up

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BI42L...eature=related

and last but not least is old 2A sounding as good as ever
