[iV8SC14R171819] SkyCity Triple Crown, Darwin -20-22 June
Haven't watched Touring Car Masters for a while but this one race today has got more excitement then both of yesterday's V8 races.
Especially the whole grid heading towards turn one, my ears are happy |

Congratulations to Mr Winterbottom. On what looked like cooked tyres he managed to keep the Tekno car away, and extend his championship lead
The 7-ites made a big song and dance about Mr Ingall having all these tyres, and he ended up 10th.. Whoopdidoo |

Did the red mist decend on Lowndes? he made contact in a silly place on the track at a time when one more lap and he would have been passed anyway. From memory he was ahead of Jamie at the time so he should been there at the end instead of battling for last

I am a day behind because I just arrived back in the country, so purely from race 1:
Does anybody else think Dale Wood has no place in this championship? He's never done anything worthwhile in the main game and his driving down the back against Dahlgren (who seemed to be chipping away alright) was absolutely atrocious. I know in his first stint we blamed the Kelly Krate, but if his cheques didn't clear, he would be nowhere.... |

Woody's a tough one.
King of the kids last year in DVS, but the third wheel in the BJR camp has never been all that flash anyway. Sure, he's shown flashes of speed this year, but as per everyone else that's driven the #21 car, nothing to write home about. |

Marks win was very reminiscent of the Will Davison win at Barbagallo a couple of years ago. Whoops! I mentioned Will Davison, but I think I got away with it...
Whincup finished 3rd in that race too. |

It was a good effort by Frosty given that he was 10th on the grid and the safety car came out at exactly the wrong time.

Mr Wood was successful in the Dunlop series last year, not dominatingly so, but better than his competitors. An aside.. is it interesting that Mr Wood was not invited back to the M Motorsport Lamborghini for next year's 12 hour, despite some commonality of sponsors |

With Bairdo leaving Clearwater to join Steve Richards and car owner in the Lambo there would be no room for him anyway. I'm assuming here that the third BJR car is better prepared then the Kelly Krate (not that hard) so I'm looking at Woody here to improve. |

Strangely the article doesn't mention the writer. Does Mr Phelps have some internal competition? |

William Dale, SPEED FOX SPORTS No offence intended, but I find it really funny that so many people (a similar thing happened with a previous article) are confuddled when the website has the authors name printed on the right hand side. |

Mr Mostert has made some rather questionable moves in the past, some of which cost him a DVS title.
Mr Dane's words, in my opinion, were a tad harsh, but the reality of it is the kid is still learning. |

I'm not going to shoot Lowndes, because it seems someone else is speaking for him, but Roland needs to realise that they have to race everyone on the track. The back markers shouldn't just step aside to let Triple 8 go and bother Frosty. |

The thing is, the pilot of #17 IS in a lot of compromising positions on the track, and gets his ears boxed a lot because spatial awareness and car placement on the track when it is clearly unwell & dying is not normally a strong suit. So you can kinda see Mr Ingall's point. It had me wondering at the time whether the DSO actually spent some time with the pilot and engineer of #17 to coach/encourage a slightly different approach. I bet it didnt happen

Perhaps so, but my point is, no matter what the state of play is out there, and the level of the drivers, you have to take a certain amount of responsibility for what you are doing out there, and what the outcome might be. If a driver is know bad, give him a bit of space, and don't try and tap him off, because he'll surely go ya. I'm not saying that's right, but that is and always has been the nature of tin tops (and increasingly other forms of motorsport too). I don't think highly of Chaz Mostert at all. I think he's lucky to be in the car he's in, and has yet to prove himself. But that changes nothing on the incident with Lowndes. |

This is where Mr Whincup shines compared to most; concede a spot or two with an ailing car, or try and fight to the death, and risk getting carted off, conceding many spots.
