I think it's interesting that despite DTM and SuperGT basically running joint specs in this day, SuperGT is much better to watch. I think the difference is the multiclass racing. Dealing with traffic and all the other battles in the slower class creates a lot of opportunity to the GT500 class. This element is missing in DTM
Maybe DTM should consider allowing GT3 class into it's ranks to ensure the racing isn't so dull with the leader streaking off into the distance. |

I'd agree with that. It's also why so many factory LMP1 drivers have spent time in Super GT, it's the closest thing available to fill the time between WEC races ...

It's also telling that some top line drivers choose the Super GT race instead of WEC when there's a clash... probably says something about the values of the championship

Too right. To some its anything to slag the wec it seems. Theres nothing to read into wec drivers doing SGT instead of wec. Some just have championship aspirations.

Not a rumor as such, but Millennium Racing appear to be planning on racing GT3 cars next year.

TMG did say that they wanted to have an LMP2 customer engine program, but that front has been quiet for almost a year.

If Multimatic are up to something, I can't really say that it's a new car, as they'd probably update the Lola chassis (Multimatic own the license to build the Lola chassis now), so I'm leaning towards an engine deal.
For that, I'd have to say that likely candidates are Ford or maybe Toyota, if it's a factory badged program. Or could Judd or AER be up to something? |
