Ferrari was in GT1 from 2000 to 2010

550-GTS wasn't official Ferrari product, I mean it was run by Prodrive and all that but it wasn't the same deal as 360/430/458. Also I think the last running from that car in any ACO/FIA racing was in 2009, not 2010 (FIA GT at HTTT)

I know there is the rumour of the Z4 being used in GTE next year but have RLL even confirmed that they are staying next year? Rahal didn't seem pleased with his car's performance compared to the other cars and blamed it on BoP. There is a possibility of RLL not returning...unless I'm forgetting something.

C'mon now, too many waivers on the Viper for Arakis to appreciate it, it's like his red headed step child...

MC12 was no different... but back then ACO at least still had some regulations in place and knew when to reject blatantly non-complying entries from Le Mans

Tough admittely that was one of those rare occassions when the car in question would've been ridiculously superior to anything that moves if the restrictions had been lower and rules more open

Ferrari in GT1 and GT2 / GTE

GT1 : Ferrari 575 GTC (N-Technology)
(2004-2006 : FIA GT / ELMS / Le Mans / Italian GT)

GT2 / GTE (Michelotto) : F360 / F430 / F458

I don't disagree. GT1 was 'banned' because it quite naturally died out, despite Ratel's efforts keep it going
My point is that with no GT1, GTE should evolve to legally accommodate high-displacement cars like SRT Viper without the waivers.

Every time ACO give out a waiver it's like they admit that their own rules aren't good enough

This is kind of a pointless question but does anyone know why RLL chose the numbers 55/56 over 42/43?

42/3 is a Schnitzer number, not a BMW number, so I doubt it would have any significance to RLL.

Really want to see a Z4 out of these guys. Best-sounding car in the 'GT1' series when I was at Donington.

So sad, I am going to miss the BMW M3 GT2. I hope that the Z4 will be on the grid next season come Sebring. But as of this moment, haven't herd nothing else about it...(not good). Maybe they are putting GT on hold for the moment.

But congrats to BMW & Bruno Spengler for winning the 2012 DTM Championship

Other than the partly cut out rear wheel arches I have problems spotting any significant changes to the GT3 version.

Really hope this thing gets homologated by the ACO, I'd love to see it at Le Mans.

The diffuser is also of the GTE style vs the open and straked GT3 version, the area behind the front wheels has actually been filled in a bit (it's rather open on the GT3), there's no diveplanes and no lower 'wing' at the rear.
