porsche962fan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
so couldn't WSR just buy a used car road car (maybe one with light crash) and take what they need ?

A) - maybe not. Depends on what is needed.
B) - how much does a used G20 cost?

Wouldn't they have thought of that if it was a viable option?

Good to see Oliphant back. Powell has not really done much in the car, so hopefully Tom can get some decent results out of it. Although the only other time he's driven FWD was back in 2018 with the Merc

Cook P3 in FP1 which sounds more promising.

It does doesn’t it.

I wonder if the M-Sport engine cars have been given a bit of a boost for this weekend perhaps?

BTC's weekend off to a good start: £500 fine for a team member driving Plato's car in the pitlane, and a 10 point deduction for an extra engine change.

Speedworks also lost 20 points for, presumably two, extra engine changes.

And also Conner Garlick (Ginetta Supercup) fined for doing 65mph in the 30mph limit pit lane!

It never rains but it pours at BTC...

Pens for two M-Sport teams never a great sign. Unless there is an updated specification engine that has been given to BTC and Speedworks?

Goodness knows what Garlick was doing! There's an accidental breach, and then there's just not slowing down

Ingram down in P13 too, both Astras in the top 7, lots of slides off the track... strange qualifying session!

No idea what was going on with Turkington there, he didn't get it together at all.

Nice to see Cammish on pole, he's been in Sutton's shadow all year. Hopefully he'll get some wins tomorrow.

Will he be even allowed to win with Sutton fighting for the championship?

Listening to the audio interviews with Steve Dudman and his drivers ,via the BTC Racing Line, their issues with the M-Sport engine, so far this season, seem to be far more than just not having a qualifying map.

That was what Michael "Creesy" Crees said on Tin Top Tuesday the other week. The Astras have found something clearly.

Quite a good chance for Sutton and Hill to boost their title hopes tomorrow with Turkington and Ingram being so far away. And for Cook to get back to the title picture as well.

There’s an interview from today after qualifying with Crees in which he’s keen to praise M-Sport for their work after his criticism post Snetterton.

Not sure if it's a qualifying map or some boost or some added cooling that’s been a change. Or perhaps a combination of those areas and others…

Bearing in mind the previous TOCA Swindon engine was GM based I am surprised they went to the new MSport engine when they could have had a cut price Swindon motor

Great lap by Cammish to go pole. He means business. Cookie is definitely back with that second place. Nice to see both Astras up there. Chilton top Hyundai on row 5, he needs better luck than he had at Snetterton.

Turkington way down the grid in 15th, don't know what went wrong there. Still not the only championship leader starting that far back for a race today

Oliphant must be gutted not to even get a lap on his one off return.

I do question some of these "replacement drives" now and then. Seems the driver turns up hoping to have a one off outing, and the car fails pretty quickly. It's almost as if it's programmed to fail but only once the conditions of a TBL are fulfilled so it's not handed back to TOCA.

I remember a few years back at Brands GP when Tony came out of retirement for one lap each race before the car "broke" each time.

Let's see how Tom gets on today, but it's pretty clear the car is way under his talent level.
