Tom908V12 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Small mistake...Anthony Beltoise would be test driver, not official driver, so one name still missing.

And there's a NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Michigan International Speedway that weekend. So Villeneuve may be out as well.

Villeneuve has confirmed he will do the first 5 Cup races. Rest of the season is still unconfirmed. He always can skip 1 or 2 Cup races.

Well, the ACO released a newsletter today with this little tidbit it in...
Quote:
ALMS: 10th anniversary
In 2008, the American Le Mans Series Championship will celebrate its tenth anniversary, and will welcome a new competitor from this side of the Atlantic: Peugeot with its 908 HDi FAP for the Sebring 12-Hour race.

Since yesterday and until sunday, Peugeot-Sport is testing the 908 at the Barcelona circuit(along with Pescarolo and Oreca-Courage)

No idea of the drivers present, but it looks like the official pictures given to the press next week(15th january)are being taken this week-end, so all the 2008 drivers may be present there...

Peugeot might even do more ALMS rounds than Sebring and PLM:

Pug-natious ALMS?

Now Murphy hears that Peugeot may actually run more ALMS races than just Sebring and PLM. He thinks that the Shanghai Surprise makes Laguna Seca more likely, but could there be even more? Count Ingolstadt amongst those expecting more entries from the French oil burners.

Another canadian newspaper from today believes Jacques Villeneuve has signed a contract of driver for the 2008 Le Mans race with Peugeot !!

I strongly wish it's true, as he impressed me in 2007 when he discovered endurance for the first time !!

Austrian ex-F1 driver Christian Klien(Redbull) has been spotted at the Paul Ricard circuit yesterday while Peugeot was testing there with all the 2008 drivers !!!!

I tend to disagree, Bourdais did a great job but Villeneuve did not deliver as an ex-F1 and CART champion ought to do. Yes, it is a different ball game altogether but I had expected much more than those lap times coming from someone like him.

I agree entirely, I thought JV's performance at Le Mans was disappointing.

Yes, but a lot of the rumored Peugeot pilots already have other commitments: Bourdais (Torro Rosso), Wurz (Honda), Klien (BMW-Sauber). And others have other plans: Villeneuve (NASCAR), Montagny (Champcar).

I hope all their other plans don't prevent them to run the 24H of le Mans race

By the way, confirmation by today Auto-Hebdo that Christian Klien tested the 908 this week at the Castelet circuit

The only thing that springs to mind is the rumour of a 3rd chassis for Le Mans ?

Gene-Minassian-Montagny

Lamy-Sarrazin-Wurz

Zonta-Klein-Villeneuve

Perhaps ? But not maybe in that order . Or maybe to run a car full time in the ALMS ?

Yes, the 9 drivers and 3 cars makes a lot of sense.

Peugeot is really accumulating drivers with F1 experience.

makes perfect sense. As Bentley singaled on another thread there is no number 9 in the ALMS this year, another hint that we might see a 3rd peugeot indeed. It would be great to see 3 against 3 at the top end at LM....

I would prefer to see 2 R10's against 2 908's . But if Audi have a 3rd entry , which im sure they have , then I'd like to see 3 Pug's too .
