The amount of gravel on track in that corner they keep showing is insane. Surprised they haven't taken time to clean that.

Leader #6 doing 32 lap stints, consistently. #93 Peugeot is doing 32 laps too, but the last stint was only 31. Over the race so far, Porsche has managed to eek out the odd longer stint and stopped three laps later last time.

True there, I remember when they showed onboard during 2nd stint, you could see how much vibration there was on the right front bodywork... But still Michael seems to be struggling more than the other drivers.

Alpine seems to be able to get a few more 33 lap stints in that others. And the Cadillac gets in a few 34 lap stints.

Super competitive grid. Not super wheel to wheel racing really today. But I think other tracks will be a bit more conducive to that.

Whether the 5 can overhaul the Peugeot for a Penske 1-2 is probably the big question in the final stints.

Still. Long live the Hypercar/GT3 era of the WEC! As long as constant safety car periods don't rear its ugly head, which at least so far in the Qatar race it has not. WEC in the present and near term future looks awesome! The safety car frequency and procedures is my biggest beef with IMSA and SRO racing. WEC looks like could really stand out in that way as well in addition to having the worlds most elite sportscars of course!

The cars look great under the lights now.
I'm wondering if the Caddy can stretch to the end of race on 1 more stop? 65 laps could be a bit much unless there are some slow laps.. |
