Have to say I wouldnt say on track action was a huge success three cars, one of which hardly ran rght all day, the other was disintegrated.
I would rather see the Belgians, or fwd classes, this to me is a bit of a poor relation for a world championship event. Fair enough in British or Benelox events, but not WRX Can anyone tell me why the fwd cars are not going to Lydden? Has a reason been given> It's in Europe, presume it is not part of ERC is why |

Peter Hedström will do the whole ERX, not sure where though, but has thoughts about some WRX events to. He has gotten an offer from a team that will do the whole WRX but in case he chooses them he will do the whole WRX except Argentina and Canada. He could also stay with his own team and to the ERX or select the other team and do some rounds with his own team in RallyX.

From Top Gear tonight, it seems as if JRM have acquired at least one Mini RX. Maybe this is old news but I don't recall anything announced.

It was nice to see the group B even if they don't run it 100% flat out. It somehow fits Rallycross, but Chunder does have a point that it doesn't aid the modern approach of "RallycrossRX". But I was glad to see them! And it was an extra to fill the gaps next to a great number of SuperCars!
I don't however see the point in those drift cars. They're not anyone's game. And while in Rallycross every aspect in mandatory, some of which I hate (such as the weight and restrictor as the cars are just small 2 litres) and others I can live with (such as the reduced noise, which is needed for the neighbours) it really bugs me that those drift cars are big engines non restricted and can make all the noise they want?! What's the point of the restricted noise than? Anyway still not seeing the point in running an WRX only event with just a handful of SuperCars? I guess no Robin Larson and such? |

I personally would be happy to see a grid of Group B, if only for the nostalgia. 3 last year wasn't a good spectacle.
I'm not sure what could be used as a time filler instead as nobody seems to want buggies or retro. As to drifting a number of people around me last year couldn't work out the relevance to a WRX event. Even my 8 year old just wanted them to stop as he found it 'pointless and boring'. He was excited about stumbling into the Arneson Audi when we went to find showers on Friday night though. |

Missed 1975DCS line on the drifting demos, just noticed it after reading the comment from andyterry16.
It's a point I've stated before, but my opinion on drifting is that it is so frequently used as a time filler at so many motoring events (and said demonstrations are nearly always without any context) that any motorsport fans that might be won over are put off. I actually thought Lydden had the right idea with the last "Mayhem" show in that they actually made it a drifting competition rather than a free-for-all demo (unfortunately I think the good of that was undone by a crap timetable for the weekend and crap commentary for the drifting, but I'm giving some credit where I think it is due!). I have a similar opinion concerning freestyle motorcross; its incredibly skillful, but it has been shoehorned into so many shows now that people are blase about it and bored of seeing it. NB: Drift cars are subject to noise restrictions, though how some of them manage to pass is anyones guess! |

Each to their own but I don't get drifting - its just ballet dancing on wheels. Yes there is skill to it but that's not enough to make it interesting. |

Not keen to see Jerôme in a 208 as this means another unique car is lost. Also means another team has gone... Good to see Marc back and great in a logistical way as all close to home...

Andy talks about a new generation SuperCar, but is the 208 really that much better than the Clio?

Isn't Andy building more cars?
I thought he was waiting until the regs had stabilised before progressing |

Hopefully the coverage is better than last few years. Total 25 minutes for SC, S1600, D3, D4 and Twingo's is very poor. |

If Janine will drive ERX and Loheac it can also mean that there are 2 cars available for Lydden . Maybe Flaherty and Scott himself.....
Wich brand of cars will Laboulle run? Good to see them in lydden! Still expact 35+ Supercars at Lydden. The 10 TC (if we are lucky) and 10-15 lites. |
