Is Collard still a Porsche driver? Or does he just do some one-off stuff for them (ie the Penske enduro ride)?

Porsche only needs Collard as a Works Driver in FIA GT and for the Enduros with Penske.
He has been driving for Pesca for the past 3 or 4 years.

Indeed they have applied for an entry - no mention of two though.

The story at LMSR says that they have the invite already!? I thought it a little early to have an answer to an entry yet!?

Baffling, isn't it? What makes it even more so, is that the article on lmsr.net is in fact a 'copy and paste' job of an article on the Official ALMS Website!

The ACO announced that they would be publishing the initial list of those they would invite at the end of February, with the final list to be published after the Le Mans Series test days at the end of March.

Call me 'old fashioned', but I wish teams would follow normal protocol and wait for the ACO to make the announcement first!!

I'm pretty sure Tafel will get a severe tick in their fingers, the ACO is never amused by this kind of leak....

Narain Karthikeyan is being reported as having talks with Arena about a drive , maybe in a Zytek ! Autosport mag .

I thought he was mentioned with the "indian" Courage project ?

What are Arena's plans anyway ?

The article doesn't mention Zytek, but it does say the Mike Earle who runs Narain in A1 GP "...is talking to me so I might do that (Le Mans) and some sportscar races..."

I added 'Earle' to 'Sportscar' and made 'Zytek' in the piece on my site - but just my speculation, no real info. Others will have though

His name was ceratinly dropped several times by Sirish Chandran in the DSC article (http://www.courage-competition.com/p...sportscar1.pdf) on the Courage website so it could be that Mike Earle is involved in the Courage Indian Project. Just as good a guess as Zytek really...

Naa .... or should that be Naan !!!

The deal mentioned was for an LC75 for the LMS and a LC70 for Le Mans to be partnered by Gounon , "if" i remember correctly .

I want an entry to the catering and hospitality unit , whoever runs the thing !!! If im going to get the trots at Le Mans , I might as well have a good reason ... lol

Carefull! That's verging on "Goodie" territory!
Although a curry stall at LM could be a fantastic idea (if not very authentically French).

Article on Endurance-Info tells us that WR won't be at Le Mans in 2007, choosing to take the year out to focus on getting the diester engine for 2008 right. Sad to see a Le Mans stalwart not there (although I don't think anyone would hold out much hope of them doing much this year) but probably sensible not to divide effort (they would have been running the old 4 cylinder petrol motor this year had they run) given their comparatively limited resources.

A doubly sad week for WR as the other half of the "WM" partnership, Michel Meunier, passed away last week - very nice tribute on Endurance-Info bringing back great memories of the Roger Dorchy era.

Very sad for WR, but this way there is more room for competitive cars on the grid.

I'll be disappointed not to see WR lining up at 16h00. They are one of the teams that make it such an event.

I think they were lagging far far behind the last 2 years. I think a sabbatical/development year might see them come back stronger. Let's wait and see.

Despite the 'romance', LMP2 is too strong to allow such mobile chicanes to have any justification of playing in the big one..

Just read on DSC that Sebastien Loeb will not be driving for Pescarolo (or anyone else) at Le Mans this year.

Yes, Sebastien brought about good press, and was a draw... but I think Peugeot's presence and drivers more than makes up for that.
