Or we could talk about how both series got it wrong where the Japanese laid it out for them.

See in Autosport that Seb Morris is now doing F4 with Hillspeed, and that Fittipaldi is confirmed with MGR, as mentioned on here before. Two high calibre signings. There’s a lot of good young drivers in this year’s field already (16 in total so far?). You’d have thought a full grid should be doable with four weeks until the first round. Am looking forward to the start of the season.

I'd agree that Seb Morris is a good signing for the championship. It is interesting to note that Hillspeed expanding to three cars has meant that Comtec have dropped down to two. The F4 website currently lists 15 drivers, but does not include Fittipaldi.

Raoul Hyman has now switched to HHC, which has expanded to running three cars.

Good to see Fittipaldi is confirmed. Will be interesting to see how quickly he adapts to these cars? I spotted on the F4 website earlier that Motionsport would appear to have two drivers about to be announced - that would mean 18 confirmed drivers with more than 3 weeks to go until the first round. At that rate, you’d have to say it’s pretty likely they’ll get a full grid of 24 cars. Given what we saw with Formula Ford last weekend, and in this day and age, that would be a great result for F4.

Both Motionsport drivers were announced as predicted on here, so 18 drivers now confirmed. Quite a few cars are running at Snett today and tomorrow. Might have to go take a look!

Took quite a lot of testing pics at Snetterton today, you can see some on the F4 site and here. Some nice looking liveries starting to appear!

I was up at Snetterton on Wednesday and there were a lot of F4 cars out testing and doing some good mileage. They were a second or so quicker than BARC Renault I’d say. Looked pretty close too with the top six cars within about half a second. The cars look pretty F3-like in the flesh, more so than I expected from the photos I’ve seen so far.

Gustavo Lima with HHC.
Zou Si Rui with SWR. Only 1 car for Comtec and now 2 for Chris Dittmann Racing. 4 seats remaining : 1 at SWR (probably Jack Barlow), 2 at CDR and 1 at Comtec. |

Zou Sirui was announced today. Not heard of Lima before but sounds like 21 (?) drivers then with a week to go. Full grid looks pretty do-able?

The F4 website confirms 21 drivers so far and states there will be a full grid of 24 at Silverstone this weekend, with the remaining three drivers to be announced in the next few days.

I understand CDR have acquired one of the remaining Comtec cars, leaving one available. 21 driver names known so far.

Two different winners in two races so far for BRDC F4! Sounds like the races have been exciting too judging by the website. Does anyone know when the show is being put on ITV4 next weekend?

3 from 3 now and a decent number of cars - unusual to see Autosport's website covering a series at this level too: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/107086
Interesting to see how the season pans out - I was at Silverstone yesterday watching friends in a supporting race but what I saw of F4 looked pretty good |

I was at Silverstone yesterday for the MSVR meeting and saw the second and third F4 races. I was impressed – plenty of good racing, the cars sound great and lots of different teams and drivers in the mix. The lunchtime race was a belter but the field were a little more strung out for the last race. Still good though, and a decent start for a new series. As a bonus I got to meet Mark Webber in the paddock – great guy.
The highlights show is being aired on Sunday 5th May from 6:00pm to 7:00pm on ITV4 |

Fantastic that the F4 had a good start at Silverstone, it appears to have hit all it's targets and it will be interesting to see how the year develops.
Formula Renault BARC also has good numbers and Formula Ford is set to grow to a possible four chassis manufactures and more drivers. UK single seater racing is looking healthier now... |
