runshaw should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Merhi also raced in a few Spanish F3 rounds last season and dominated a couple of them. So he has quite a few starts in F3 already.

VW looks disapointing or either Mercedes Engine improved during the winter.

VW has some decent drivers like Van Dam and Mika Maki but unless Carlin i do not really think they will be able to beat Mercedes Teams. Time will tell...

Can you imagine where Brendon Hartley would be on the time sheet if he was driving a Dallara-Mercedes?

And Robert Wickens will compete in Hockenheim as a wild card – both in the season opener and at the end of the season. The young Canadian will fully focus on the new Formula 2 series this year.

Bringing the live timing link forward, if it's the same address as last year. Be a nice touch if they have some sector times this year.

I have looked at the 2009 F3 Euroseries entry list, and I find some observations:

1 driver who won F3 Champinships before 2009 F3 Euro. (Van Dam)
2 engine suppliers (Benz/VW)
3 sons/ grandsons of F1 drivers (Bianchi, Tambay and Cecotto)
4 Red Bull drivers (Maki, Vernay, Hartley and Wickens)
5 drivers who have more than 2-year experience in F3. (Mustonen, Van Dam, Chinosi, Bird and Shaaban)
9 rookies

The strongest grid in 6 years!

It's not 100% official, but seems that Johan Jokinen (iquick driver, f.renault 2.0) will replace Wickens in Kolles this weekend in Laustiz. He will do his first f3 race.

Bird tested two years ago (aerodynamic test):
http://www.formula1.com/news/headlin...7/11/7069.html

I think he hasn't tested more.

Actually Hulk is third driver, and Dani Clos fourth

Well, was it or wasn't it? I think you should know.

Not that it means much. Hulkenberg doesn't seem to to have rocketed to the fore after being made official test driver.

That is interesting Pericu. When I looked-up Kolles & Heinz under Drivers on there (F3ES website) a few days or so ago, there was none other than Marko Asmer listed. Not happening apparently. Johan Jokinen (31) on there now, to be sure.

I'm glad that Nick Tandy's ability is being recognised, but hope it isn't a poisoned chalice. The team hasn't shown much speed so far.

It may be only one race gig, it would be shocking news for BF3 if he stopped racing his Mygale, coz he's doing great work in here.
