If it's FIA compatible why not? The Beetle is also on sale in the rest of the world.

Prodrive have posted photos of MINIs in build - some WRC spec but they also mentioned rallycross cars too - so somebody is going to be using one (or more) somewhere.

Yep, she was on an informal visit to Prodrive recently and posted pics in her blog at a leading Swedish newspaper.

I wonder if the OMSE budget will be impacted by Marcus Ericsson moving into F1 with Caterham. Olsbergs was the brand on the side of the car although I know many famous Swedes were behind the effort to get a Swede in F1 (first since Peterson/Borgudd?) but Olsbergs was the 'face'. Caterham require funding........

Also, Olsbergs put a lot of funding into GRC last year with SuperCar and Lites. I hope Jan-Erik is getting the return he deserves - great guy btw.

What do you guys think of Topi moving? Drivers aren't loyal and I guess why should they be, but OMSE put a lot into Topi over the last couple of years both on and off the track and delivered a Championship winning car for him. I am "in" on other stuff at OMSE but this surprised me a little.

Money is money though and VW money is talking to a lot of people right now.......we all knew it was just a matter of time until Jost took VW on the same path as he took Ford.

No such thing as loyalty in any sport

I dont rate Topi too much, I think he is very aggressive, and this no doubt comes from Eriksson a little, he was always the dirtiest driver in recent years, but Topi was also a little bolshy in the Saab.

If Foust moves I will be amazed, that team is built around his success largely and he has always got the best out of it in Europe if not the US.

Ignoring my opinions on Topi as a driver I'm surprised to see him move at this point. Although the Polo has shown promise at times, the Fiesta is a proven race winner (in Europe and the US) and he obviously knows his way round the car.

Would think he would stick with what he knows for his debut in the World Rallycross. Bit of a slap in the face to OMSE as well: I guess VW made the move worth his while...

The guy has dominated Supernational or beena top driver in that category for years

Not that keen on him to be honest, seems a dirty driver, doesnt need to be with the quickest car, only car who uses a 6 to any effect.

Will fit in fine in ERC I imagine

That seems to indicate that at least one OMSE Fiesta will be present in the World Championship. Who will the driver(s) be though?...

Potentially three Monster DS3's according to the original LD Motorsport press release. That was a month ago though, so perhaps plans have changed.

I have my fingers crossed that Foust will run in a Fiesta: the Foust/VW rumour seems to keep surfacing though...

...Deegan has been quick in the GRC and has a lot of off road short course experience so he certainly has the potential to be competitive in the World Championship. Not keen on him as a personality though, so I wouldn't be that fussed if we saw a different driver at the wheel of a Ford.

Will be great to have a Ford (or two) running the whole championship.

I don't think Brian is running too many World or European rounds. He has big commitments over here with Metal Mulisha and the trucks, etc. He is a very smart businessman and don't think WRX has the necessary exposure for him. But could be wrong........

OMSE announcement tomorrow. Wait and see!
