i'm wasting away!!!!
does anyone else have the problem of malnutrition while on posts on any circuit?as everyone knows "what lunch hour?" is a common question.often it's either too far to get to the grub station, there's no time,or those lovely tuna butties you made at 9 0'clock last night just don't seem that appealing anymore! why is there no mobile butty van or an order service for marshals?
here's a novel idea;put your order in when you sign on,food delivered to post at lunch. anyone else any ideas? |

delivered by dancing girls in short frocks, why not just get a hot dog van to throw in a lap between races to drop of the grub

The diference between What launch hour and malnutrition is often down to the club that runs the meeting. Take 750MC excellent service you normally get a lunch brake of at least 30 mins but often nearer the 60 min mark plus they dont ar*e about with a 3 to 6 course cars. the problem upaulo and I guess you go to Oulton, is there are too many chiefs and if you were at the f3 meeting a 15 min launch break. If you are luckey enough to be race control, or a CoC you get a pack lunch ( but that is not always apatising) what we need is old Doughnut store back. I would spend a fortune there and eat at least 4 of them. Nice idea of the butty van just can not see Octagon doing that though. One easy way could be to do a Dial a Pizza and see the guy on the moped speed round the posts between races.

Crikey!!
Does anyone here have any links with a catering company? I sense a killing to be made: take orders at sign-on and then delivered to, say, race control at 12:00 as you said upaulao. If a company can guarantee a price of something like £2.50 per head for a sandwich, packet of crisps, chocky bar and an OJ, and can guarantee delivery *every* time, they would clean up. I for one would be more than happy to do that rather than spending 4 quid at Tesco on my way in or eating the sweaty cheese sandwiches I made the night before. Even if lunch-break was minimal, I'm sure one person per post could nip back to RC to pick them up. Now, where can I get my hands on 50 loaves cheaply... |

As I understand it BMP is in control of the three major meetings and these are: TOCA, BSB and F3/GT. At BSB meetings, which last 2 1/2 days, marshals are given £5 expenses and on the two full days a packed lunch, as described earlier, is provided courtesy of a sponsor. At both the car meetings nothing was provided to the marshals by either the club or sponsor.
This begs the question as the same people are in control of these meetings why are the marshals catering needs treated differently? Last edited by KayBee; 6 Sep 2002 at 08:59. |

I speak of first-hand experience.....
Anyway, now that I am the archetypal Mondeoman, I suppose I cannot comment further...... |

Maisie, I apologize, I have just seen the Maestro and Montego owners club web-site.
I suppose that people in the seventies never dreamed that one day someone would be restoring cars like Mark III Cortina's, so it's not unexpected that nowadays enthusiasts would want to keep modern family cars in good order. I suppose one day in the future, someone might be trawling through an autojumble looking for that elusive 'Ghia' badge that Ford haphazardly glues to the back door windows of Mondeos!!! If so, there are probably several on the A38 that have fallen off mine!! Last edited by neilwaynesmith; 6 Sep 2002 at 15:30. |

Sorry, I know that everything made in Britain is ****, from basic cars to F1!! [Its part of the British psychology]. However, the versatility of my little pot bellied Maestro beats that c**p out of vehicles like the obnoxious looking Fiat Multipla and Punto etc etc

Maisie,
you want to ask Tony why he calls his car a pot bellied Maestro!!! Is'nt there a saying that owners take on the looks of their dogs!! does this apply to cars as well. And Tony I know Margie drives Annie!!!!!!! |
