Tried that, got a fake Boston address. But the itunes store still knows I am living in Belgium so it's not working.

You're certainly not talking about the 'rulebook' for any other party, as far as it concerns any release of this nature.

Making it available via Itunes (a locked-down medium, which enforces DRM) doesn't make a great deal of sense if you're interested in having the most significant volume of people watching free content - which, in this case, is an advertisement. It defies logic.

I'll await a decent alternative.

A company without unaltered DRM.

That's a good one.

That isn't actually true. iTunes does not enforce DRM and hasn't done for a number of years. DRM is the publishers side of things, not Apples. The Music section has been completely DRM Free since 2009. Many movies are available as "iTunes Plus" which are DRM free.

If it's solely Audi's doing (e.g. they - or, the publisher on their behalf - have optionally employed DRM), the above comments are ignorance on my part (there was a time when Apple enforced mandatory DRM). Regardless of which party is responsible, DRM is nonsense (particularly in this context). For this reason, I'll await an unfettered release, elsewhere.

Are there any chances of getting into trouble legally from iTunes for a fake US account? I would love to download the first Truth in 24 in 720p HD along with T24ii but hesitant due to the legal technicalities…

None at all. At worst, you will be banned from ITunes.

Of course you can avoid ITunes all-together and have a DRM-free version....

I completely agree that the DRM is pointless here. Essentially Ti24 is an advertisement for Audi. We all love it, but it's an advert, and they are making it hard to view. That makes no sense.

The film is produced by NFL Films, Intersport, and Ziggy Mediahouse. I suspect one of them is involved with the DRM decision.

The reason why the previous movie was only available on the US iTunes Store is clearly documented in http://www.fourtitude.com/news/publi...cle_7728.shtml.
Quote:
Actor Jason Statham picks up the roll of narrator again for Truth in 24 II. Last time around, Audi only secured the rights to use Statham’s voice in the American version and there were other limitations to distribution. While Americans could download the movie free-of-charge via Apple’s iTunes, others outside the USA didn’t find it as readily available. “This time we sorted that out,” Keogh adds. “Statham just finished his reading in London. And, then what we’ve gone ahead and done is secured the rights on the first film. So now we’ve got Statham [Truth in 24] 1 and Statham [Truth in 24] 2 internationally, across the board.”
I don't understand why you are all complaining. I live in Belgium, I downloaded the video from the US iTunes Store and I am watching it right now. I am half way and I am enjoying it a lot.

Can't see any sign of a DVD version on either the US or international sites yet? I assume that will follow later?

I also saw it and liked it a lot.

It is difficult to say which Truth in 24 is the best. The first one deals with Audi's methodical preparation and how to win Le Mans with a slower car by superior strategy and pit work, whereas the second has the huge drama of the two crashes and the very small time difference at the finish line.

Visually the first one was slightly better because NFL Films did not have their own film crew at Le Mans for the second movie and they had to rely more on the ACO footage.
