Robert Morris has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Well now we have the final date we can move forward with our mini 50 years celebration event, this will include mini club static shows. may be trade stands, along with a 2 race event, at lydden . We have to work on the details now. We already have sponsors on board, and intrest from our friends over in germany.
The main mini race will be steal bodied up to 1400cc 5 port split into 4 classes some thing like this,a) Historic, b)998cc, c)miglias d) upto 1400cc.

Space frame and specials we still need to adress.

Rod has now released the date because it is intened to be part of the BARC se weekend, on june 27/28 2009 which will also be a DMN round.

Sounds good to me Rob.I may have to reconsider selling the Mini now and do the development that i was going to do to it.Will have to reposition the seat so that Bill can fit in to it he is a bit plumper then me.Be good to see if he can beat my lap time in my own car

Careful mentioning any German cars around Big Dave, he seems to have quite a violent reaction to them!

Looking forward to the Mini 50th Anniversary races, all sounds great.

Tris I've found a metro turbo unit for you, along with the inlet manifold and carb. BTW I've still got the Cooper S brakes that you asked about earlier in the year. The calipers are all cleaned and painted.

i know we put 4 pot on stellas rally car when she was sprinting and did make ant difference to her time.
On my mig i have had bad brakes since day 1 and ive changed calipers, pads, and master cylinder, in fact they went to the floor 3 times at weekend but im not looseing any fluid, changed rear wheel cylinder, and blocked off rears, so got look deeper into it.

He lives in Leybourne Robert. Are you sure your not boiling the fluid?
Scott, Bill might not be out of luck if you look at what Lee is suggesting regarding his miglia.

after having spent some time reading the posts it seems to me that you are deliberately excluding some minis. Which when it is the 50th annerversary of the mini does seem very strange, unless there is some hidden ageenda. You are setting four cats which have not been thought about fully if a historic 1460 fuel injected books in from the cooper car company are you going to ban that car.Are you banning all 16v,7ports or even any car with a fibre glass front end as you state steel body. Is Peter Cruise, Gerald dale julian howells all banned some more definition would be of some advantage

I have been reading this thread with interest and I think that it is a bit stupid limiting the Minis that you intend to let race.Is this not running on the back of the Dunlop Motorsport race so surley it should be BARC that set the classes. After all outside of the Mighty Mini and Mini Seven racing how many Minis are there you want a full grid not an artifically diluted one.

As i said in an earlier post its early days yet and yes we have already filled one grid. It might be we need to approach BARC SE to see if we can have two grids. Will have to work on that one.Would be nice to know who im communicateing with, you have an advantage over me.

Hi Rob, you say you've already filled a grid - is there somewhere, or someone we specifically have to register our interest with?

If yourself then please count rww and myself in for a race each.

There is bound to be a few teething problems but we will sort it.I bet you can list 20 people that race a mini at lydden and around the south east . I did make a mistake about the wording of steel bodied cars. Should have included fiberglass front, No different to what SEMSEC, BARC , & MINI 7.
After all Lee you Know we run 3
