this is a single seater designed to maintain a minimum of 500 hp throughout the full course run... it has a paddle operated sequential transmission, weighs bellow 1000 lbs and has all wheel drive... in it's previous lower powered configuration it was only 1.5s off the pace of a formula atlantic car Weight: 1000 lbs (435 kg) Engine: Hartley H2 Turbo HP: 500 hp (throughout full course) Power to Weight: 700hp/ton Transmission: Hewland Sequential http://www.palatov.com/pikespeak/ http://dpcars.net/ http://www.egarage.com/car-profiles/...motorsport-d4/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3I7dd8jC2I the driver will be David Donner... perhaps they could also bring over a more powerful version of their electric racecar conversion Last edited by F50GTPlus; 22 Apr 2012 at 21:48. |

I love this course, its completely nuts.. although no longer gravel.. but still not exactly easy to go up fast
This Palatov car is certainly very fast, I'm sure they could break 10mins |

Am I correct to assume Rhys Millen isn't doing Pikes Peak this year? Don't see his prototype Hyundei on the entry list; sucks if he truly isn't doing the race this year. I guess Hyundei wanted success quicker than he could deliver, so pulled the plug this year? In any case, the rest of the Unlimited Class looks strong; my guess for the two to finish at the top are either the Palatov or Jean Philippe Dayraut's Nissan GTR-powered Dacia Duster, who's back after finishing pretty strongly last year. Tajima's electric monster is unproven, so my feeling is it won't be fastest this year.

Rhys Millen is on the entry list you posted (in the Hyundai). Monster Tajima is in the "electric" class, Wlater Rorhl in the "exhibition" class in the Audi Quattro S1 (how good is that ), then there are the 2 RS200s in the "unlimted" class should be good even if they have paved it all the way up now.

What a donkey show this year!
My friend, co-driver for Jerad Voight in the Dark Horse Customs Camaro crashed 6 turns from the finish in a sheet of ice/hail. Shortened race... Should've been black flagged and the rest run on Monday. Terrible job by the race director. |
