The Monaco Historic GP runs every two years, next one is 2014 then 2016 etc, always two weeks before the F1 GP. The first Formula E race will run in 2015, two weeks before the F1 GP (i.e. the week-end left free that year by the Historic GP). I understand it will be run entirely on the Saturday and will use a short circuit avoiding the climb up (and down) to the Casino. So the cars will turn right at Ste Devote back at sea level (Avenue JF Kennedy), then almost immediately hairpin right just before the Tabac corner. They used this "track" a few years ago for a special stage on the Monte-Carlo Rally.

Perhaps electric rallycross cars would be more interesting for these tight courses, don't you think?

Next year's IndyCar season ends at the end of Aug, so all the teams and drivers are actually free to compete in Formula E which begins on 20 Sep.

They can probably do all the races until the sixth round in LA in mid Feb 2015 before focusing on Indycar again.

If it is done with a better marketing approach than Superleague and even Indycar - which could seriously improve there -, it could be absolutely huge. It is the most logical step towards "clean or cleaner" racing! As much as I love my engine sounds, it is the future...

This very informative article by South China Morning Post confirms that the first ever round of the series will be in Beijing's Olympic Green, as well as mentioning that New York City is on the cards for 2015-2016. Also, it seems like Hong Kong's track will go directly through the CBD, right by that gorgeous waterfront. Interesting bits of news.
