Race 7 - Historic Formula Junior Race B
Sponsored by Miller Oils, this one for the rear engined cars, again for the Barry Westmoreland Trophy. James Murray (62) qualified a fine 2nd but had to retire from the race after 6 laps, but Benn Simms (47) drove a blinder to finish 5th overall and win class C:-

Excellent photos John. It looks like we must have been standing next to each other at some points!

Very likely, Paddy. I do try to get round virtually the whole circuit during the day to provide a bit of variety and Cadwell such a lovely place anyway.

Great picture of Lotus - it was actually a Castrol Team Lotus car raced in Canada by Craig Hill in 1970.

I wanted to post this in the John Turner absentia (absynth??) forum.....
Anyhow, its been a long winter, especially for us in more eastern climes. But how great to see that John is back and posting photos of meetings etc. Like the first shoots of green on spring trees, it feels like the start of a new season and good to have you back John. I hear you've had a tough old time, here is to a good year in 2010. Very best regards, Roger |

Roger, very kind post, thanks. I guess my personal issue is going round the grapevine (I've no problem with that). I'm happy to put my pics up; it doesn't take that long; it's the brief reporting that accompanies them that is time consuming and I'm not at this stage prepared to commit that level of time, especially as it is unpaid (open to offers, though!). The number of events I'm attending this year will also be reduced, but I'm very pleased to see increased input from other photographers; please keep them coming. It's also very interesting to get individual driver accounts of their races.
