back axles and Diffs . . . . .

I have a very noisy, and vibrating back axle in my Cortina, its fit for the bin . . . .I have 2 spares, a MK1 GT axle (3.9) and a MK2 (3.9). Im dubious as to the condition of both diff assemblies.

Q1 would MK1/2 escort Diff assemblies fit in? are the halfshafts different?

Q2 are they easily reconditioned, and is there anyone in Sussex anyone can recommend.

I have good halfshafts of both MK1 and MK2 (1"longer) and am not overly fussed which axle replaces the existing.

thanks

Give Peter Young a call on 01273 719719. He's been preparing my TR and does Sprints & Hillclimbs himself so he knows the score. He's not a Ford specialist, but I would think he knows suppliers who will have th right answers

He's in 2nd Avenue in Hove - mention my name and the bulletin board so he knows what's going on...
