Ginetta should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Formula Renualt winter series

Hello I'm a newbie and I'm hoping to go to the FR winter series at Croft on the 12 th November, work permitting.
Can anyone give me any advice as to who will be driving and who to look out for

Hi,

Are you just coming to watch or are you planing to compete in any of the events?

Of who is running you will get a mixture of young FRenault UK runners/3 or 4 drivers from FRenault BARC championship/FBMW races & some straight out of karts.

From FRenault BARC I would expect to see Matt Russell, Dean Stirling, Alex Morgan & possibly Denis Autier.

From FRenault UK I would guess people like Jeremy Metcalfe, Will Bratt, Richard Keen but would be interested to hear from those have more definate info.

I know that Filsell (from FBMW) are looking to run 2 FRUK cars.

On the teams front I would expect that the main teams, Fortec, team aka & Manor should be runnings drivers

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I'm only going as a spectator, but hey if there were no spectators there would be no motorsport

SpawnyWhippet has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Looks like it could be an interesting / competitive event. Would like to participate myself if I can get next year maybe if I can swing a trip to the UK.

I've just got an email from Croft about this and the card is
Race 1 DDMC/NW Sports Saloon Winter Race
Race 2 Ginetta Winter Series
Lunch Break
Race 3 FRenault UK Winter Series
Race 4 As Race 1
Race 5 As Race 2
Race 6 As Race 3
So it should be a good day out

After Brands Hatch this weekend the Formula Renault UK Winter Series lead is tied between Paddy Hogan (Fortec) and Junior Strous (AR Motorsport, Netherlands) with both drivers having a 1st & a 2nd place.

The AVO Ginetta championship is also close between Jordan & Miller (who each won a race) with Alexander not far behind (won Race 1 on road but had a 10sec penalty for a jump start).

So these races along with the local DDMC races should be very competitive. I do hope it doesn't pour down this Saturday !

Your best bet would be to look at www.msttiming.com and review the results from last weekends races (Look under BARC results). I understand that Tony Jardine will be an extra competitor at Croft

Well I went and it was cold. But as far as I'm concerned it was a good day out, for a tenner. Best FRenault driver on the day. Oliver Jakes. He looked quick just about everywhere.

I am glad you enjoyed your day but I think you have mixed up names. I think you are talking about team aka driver Jeremy Metcalfe (Car 6) who swopped his number with Oliver Oakes (Car 7).

Ah that might be the case. I was going off the programme. Thanks. Why did they swap and why wasn't it announced or did I miss it

any idea why Dean Stirling was'nt there? good to see Falcon got a car out, although it did appear that ALI's luck had not improved much since the summer with 2 DNF's

I am not sure if Dean will be back in FRenault next year, so I think that is why he did both FR BARC & FR UK at Brands Hatch, to get his moneys worth.
