Not long now?
So how long is it until your first race of the year? Are you nearly there yet?
What are your plans? The same as last year, or a change? I'm doing the same, with the same car. However we are going modified. Nothing to much at first, just different tyres and a little less weight. Plans are to do a few of the XJS races, a race at Spa and hopefully some longer races. At the moment the first race is at Croft April 17/18 although it says in the notes on my calendar "date may change" Last edited by Adam43; 6 Jan 2004 at 19:05. |

Well, both my cars are still exactly as they rolled off the trailer from the last race of '03. The Mini stil has the camping gear in
So you could say I am less than prepared for this season |

Ive gotta fit the panels on mine and some other small work, Ive spent many hours on it over the winter break. When its ready it should be a little faster and look fresher. First outing will be testing in February!

Sounds familiar. Shell now back in my possession, it has cage, doors, tailgate, front screen and a wiper motor.
Just need engine, gearbox, suspension, fuel tank, door glass and mechs, brakes........... Wife won't be seeing much of me for a few weekends. Was that "hooray" from the kitchen? |

Hi Adam
Rebuilding my XJS to conform to new class G regs. Hopefully now lighter and faster. First outing will be testing at Mallory 2nd March. Then racing with you at Croft 17th April. Steve |

I haven't touched my ar since the l;ast race of '03. It suffered total brake failure adn an overheating engne casued the block to crack, so i have a fair bit of work to do.
I'm getting a large garage built in my backyard and have decided to wait until it is finished before touching the car. So, I'll miss the first couple of meetings and hope to have the car ready by June. |

I did a spreadsheet ('cus I'm sad )detailing potential loses from the car. Passenger seat, windows, boot, bonnet, etc... Then I did one for me, Curry, Beer... (somethings are more likely than others...)

Hi Adam
I don't think I have much chance of being out before about May due to a shoulder injury.........car fell off axle stands onto me Luckily there was no engine or running gear fitted or it may have been next season. Ken will be about October due to a total rebuild. |

Tim, I am sorry to hear that. I hope you get out there as soon as possible. Looking at the calendar you might not miss too much.
All the best. |

As far as the powered by series goes, I am not sure if we will have many races this year, I spoke to John Arnold of revival today and the calendar has been changed again this week.

Not sure what to do here...The Cossie is rebuilt (Again) and pretty much ready to go - Just some tarting up to do and maybe build a fresh loom in the car (already done the engine & Stack looms) as some extinguishant got in there and it really does rot the bits you can't see.
But.....The car is for sale if anyone is interested...If it sells I'll do a season of Fiestas or NWFF1600 - I really do fancy the strange concept of spending money and getting some track time/racing in return... |

Adam, when I see the car at Croft will it still have it's "distinctive" livery or is something else planned for this season ?

We had 80 drivers registered last season. Once you have driven a FF1600 you will not want to drive a saloon again. |

For whoever it was that asked - a Triumph Spitfire, at Silverstone
I only have a few issues to work out yet - it needs an engine, and I discovered I built it with too little legroom - doh! Oh, and there's the small matter of the medical and ARDS test to sort out too... I think I might be busy for the next couple of months Mik |

Sounds like you'll have fun. Where are you doing your ARDS test?
Also is it easier to shorten your legs? |
