Alan Crook should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
As me and Fay cannot attend this year due to other commitments I hope someone will take photos so we can share the event with you.

Ventured into a running shop today for a new pair of trainers, ended up running on a treadmill while the young lady video-ed my "gait".

"Oh no, not the thirty five pounds trainers" she said, "you need these..."

EIGHTY FIVE QUID!!!!!!!!!!!! And they don't do "part worns" cast off from the big teams

This is turning into my most expensive race this year. And of course they have to order them because I wear barges, not shoes, and so I have to find another event to "run them in". So Wednesday night I'm running in a race around Chippenham for 5k. Bl**dy idiot.

It's only for fun Max! Do we need a cycle helmet for the other bit, though? (H&S etc....)

I need them anyway, I've been damaging my legs because my old trainers are knackered. TBQH it was like running on a magic carpet in comparison so should be well worth the dosh. I'm looking forward to trying them.

Big pointy helmet, tri bars, quick change shoes, skin suit, no I'm not taking it seriously at all

At least there's someone there to fix me bike if it breaks

uk.weather.com is suggesting light rain in the afternoon which does not sound too bad considering what such a forecast usually results in.

Saturday less good for the athletics competition!

Given that it would seem to be a period of changeable weather I reckon it's not at all certain how it will pan out on the day. Can't let a little rain put us off.

As long as the Bicycle Repair Man to the Famous is there to fix my bike when I fall off in the rain there's no problem....skin is waterproof!

I'll have my gazebo for Sunday Iain, and display materials suitable for wet weather!
