I always thought my old friend Derek Daly was a "he." And "beautifully restored and prepared" might be a stretch for him!

Cheers Double D!

It's probably a good time to do some clarification on the 308Cs. This was a 1975 design with a low-cut monocoque and rubber suspension and is not related in any way to the 308, 308B, 308D or 308E. The design was bought by Walter Wolf for the Williams team in 1976 and run as the FW05. One car was completed by Hesketh and two by Williams but the design was the same.

308C-1/FW05-1. Ex-Hunt/Ickx etc. Now owned by Graham Willcox as mentioned above and has a rock solid provenance.

308C-2/FW05-2. Ex-Ickx/Amon etc. Wrecked Canada 1976. No longer exists.

308C-3/FW05-3. Ex-Ickx/Merzario etc. Now owned by Steve Hartley (and David Abbott) as mentioned above and has a rock solid provenance.

Was the IBEC sportscars an "old" F1 Hesketh ? or they just use spares parts to built it ?

Just parts, IIRC. It certainly didn't use a Hesketh chassis.

When was this taken? I thought '308C/3' was currently racing in its FW05/3 Wolf-Williams identity.

This picture taken 2007, WRT your previous post, this was the car owned by Steve Hartley. A man I am eternally grateful too.

Derek Jones 308C which one ?

I remember greeting the change in F1 regulations for 1976 with a great sense of exciitment, no more silly airboxes !

IIRC the 308C was the first '76 spec car to appear and it scored points on it's, championship, debut at Monza in '75.

I saw Art Mezario race an FW05 in '76 at the 'Ring and am now wondering if that is the car Derek Jones was driving at last weekends Silverstone Classic ?
