You know that is not the issue. What people object to is tube-framed cars---for reasons we have discussed ad nauseam. Whichever side you favor in that debate (and trust me, we all know your position) you don't help anything by setting up a straw man.

Everyone would love to see more variety in GTD---in fact, that is what the post is about. What people want to see is a Real Car from a manufacturer---not a tube frame from Riley which might be a Pontiac today and a Corvette tomorrow.

I for one am excited that Ford's new Mustang has IRS, which means it should be able to compete honestly with some of the GTD machinery.

If someone wants to enter a GT3 Vette, or if Mazda wants to actually build a GT3 version of one of it cars, Fantastic.

Apparently TUSC doesn't want any tube-framed cars. if that's an issue, please take it up with series management.
I wouldn't expect to see any GT3 Corvettes, Camaros, Mustangs or Mazdas in GTD next year.

That's not a straw man. That's reality.

That doesn't mean a GT3 Vette/Camaro couldn't show up. The Mustang GT3 car Multimatic built for Marc VDS hasn't run in over a year. Of course, reality is the fact that there is no such thing as a GT3 Mazda, so the odds are slim one will show up. Probably around the same time as a KIA GT3 car.

Looks like with a new sponsor for 2014, Delta-ADR will indeed be running in TUSCC next year.

Level 5 is unlikely to run the full TUSCC teason, which will really limit its options here. They will have to hope that there are spaces left in the NAEC and other races with PC.

I have no problem with Chevy, Ford, or Mazda in GTD, but it needs to be in a proper production based GT car, not a tube frame silhouette car. If that's all they're going to run, then yes, I'd rather them not be there.

It's a shame and so far I'm feeling let down with all these announcements being partial season entries for the big races.finding it hard to get excited about one off naec entry announcements. Its like the enduros won't be a part of the season with so many people planing to only race them, might as well open them up and not make them a part of the championship. But good for FLM and pmr to be back with audis, and I think muscle milks pc news is great because it shows he will stay and support the series. If the next announcement is they are running a p2 or gtd it will be great news.

Looks like an R8 LMS to me, maybe with some R8 LMS ultra bits and that 'Crawford' wing.

That's fine. We have a difference of opinion.

However, please note that Turner Motorsport appears to be switching from tube frame BMW M3's to a BMW Z4 with a V-8 engine for GTD next year.

The V-8 Z4 is not actually a "proper production based" BMW. A "proper" Z4 couldn't compete.

However, having a V-8 Z4 in GTD next year (even if it ends up being one Turner car instead of two) would be better than no BMW's in GTD at all.

Wouldn't it be actually just the opposite with even MORE teams contesting the four NAEC-only endurance rounds?

Wouldn't these races be just as important if not more important - and more exciting - than the other Tudor USCC races next year?

The way everything is going, it's looking like it's going to be that way.alll everybody seems to care about is the enduros.every thing is " select rounds next year" and we all know what they are talking about.almost every one here seems to care more about damn p2 s and gte's from Europe just to see them run 4 races just to run back to Europe like they have done before.the way it is those 4 races will be the impart ant and exciting races next year, they haven't even mentioned the normal rounds race durations, all the have mentioned is a mess of a schedule with races only having to classes or splitting the classes into two races.as a fan I would feel ripped off not watching all four at the same time and hard to stay interested.the naec is a poor gimmick grand am came up and realy didn't turn into much, grand am was good even with out it all it gained for it was some more grid spots that were "also rans" anyways.i just want to see more full season efforts not select rounds announcements blowing smoke looking for funding.

Yep, I think it's a Grand-Am with the 2013 rear diffusor they weren't allowed to race in GT3 category.

Wow, Mazda to P2 with a diesel, who saw that coming?

Seriously though, first Lola to be made by Multimatic.

Edit: At the bottom of the Dagys article it says the P2 ranks will now be 6-8 for the full season, so it looks like 2-4 more cars will be competing alongside the ESM and Mazda entries.

Nice to see some properly sexy cars in TUSK!

Muscle Milk almost certainly is one of the other P2 cars, and probably 1 Greaves/Dyson, 1 Pecom, and 1 Conquest Oak.

Not-surprised face here as well... but not for lack of enthusiasm! This is fantastic for the new series, and for diversity in the top class. Kudos to Mazda and SpeedSource for putting this program together. It will be interesting to see how they improve the reliability of the diesel over last year's effort.
