^ Actually I care more about hearing it than seeing it at this point.

Here it is then: https://mediacru.sh/8Euf7X256PCK

There isn't much to hear

Hope it improves as the car develops but I doubt that.

It sounds different from everything else, great! I like it (let alone the fact, we don't know if this will be it's final noise, since Porsche have not yet even announced it's power source). There's so much talk about diversity, or not enough of it. One reason I enjoyed the WEC race at Austin a lot more than the ALMS race was because of the sound effects.
The more different looking and sounding cars there are, the better. As far as I'm concerned, way too many V8 rumblers in ALMS. I'm looking forward to the chance of some different ear candy in TUSCC (and PWC, for that matter).

Several friends I've introduced to this sport, get off on not only the different classes on track, but also how different sounding the different cars are. They, like me, love the loud Vette, and the quiet Audi.

yes, until yesterday afternoon, before I went there again, hoping for some kind of scoop, I was skeptical about the security service efficiency, then discovered that they had that useful blind zone between (outside) Lesmo and Serraglio covered...no chance

On the driver front, and linked to the rumours of Red Bull sponsoring Porsche... Autosport are suggesting that there's a potential chance of a certain driver in the Red Bull junior programme that just got passed over for a F1 drive being slotted into one of the Porsche LMP1 cars, that person being Antonio Felix da Costa. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/110985

OVERDRIVE was able to learn from other sources within Porsche that the powerplant would be a naturally aspirated petrol. A source declared also ā€˜The engine will be a small capacity petrol, with the idea being to stretch it to its maximum over the course of the race. Which is something that Porsche is known to do.ā€™
Is that a typo or just really uncredible?

You need account and you need to join the group to see it. Here is the part:

It's actually a bit louder than in the video posted 2 days ago and the car is exactly the same as in the video that Porsche released 2/3 days ago (same aero package for sure). Even the livery has the same camouflage texture so nothing new from that POV. The car with the pink tape on it slowed down and stopped before entering the Ascari in the morning and then the car came out after 1+hour without the pink tape (not sure if it was a different car). They never completed a lap, the car was always slowing down into the pit lane or on the straight at every lap, so no lap times available in comparison with the Audi that tested a couple of weeks ago (and the Audi was also cutting the first chicane unlike the Porsche). Engine is probably a petrol-turbo engine with a small displacement because the sound is quite different from the Audi (less turbo noise and as I said a bit more loud).

My thoughts about all this secret testing are that:
1- they probably won't show that the car is not very reliable so far.
2- more than hiding the aero package they wanna hide the engine side of the car.
3- they're releasing a lot of their videos lately to take away the media attention from these testing days that they did at Monza. Their track is too short and without long straights and critical braking points - as Monza has instead.
I think that they left Monza this morning - or they will left in the afternoon - with a lot of data available and possibly a good amount of work to do on the engine. Car was looking fast but not sure as fast as the Audi...
Just my 2 cents after spending 4 hours hiding in the bushes around the track.

Yeah, thinking the same. Also the description of Audi running "...a fleet of diesels and the hybrid..." Maybe a "loss in translation" typo?

It's a closed group so you need to 'send a request', that then has to be accepted, and only then can you see the stuff.

The article may give a bit more infos, hope that they aren't all on the level of "Indeed when Porsche won the 1970 24 Hours of Le Mans, they did it in the 917 that had a smaller engine capacity when compared to several of its rivals." In 1970 the very big-engined cars weren't allowed enter Le Mans and WC, 917 used 4.5 and 5 liter(s) engines, the last being just the limit for prototypes...

Well... IMO the person who wrote that so called piece of news intended to say that Porsche won the 1970 edition of LM using the (slightly) smaller 4.5L opposed to bigger and less reliable 4.9L engine...

Any relation with the alleged normally aspired, low capacity engine... just non sense
