Right then, picked it up yesterday and had a go for about 1.5 hours last night...
It is pretty awesome. I am actually suprised how similar to Sony's GT franchise it is... it looks like Gran Tourismo on an Xbox! Some of the menus (like choosing a race series) look almost identical! However, the car handling is much better / more realistic, the AI as well, and... damage! I suspect it will keep my interest for a long time to come... |

I'm not online, so I won't have any sort of unfair advantage! Actually, the game comes with a free 2 month Live trial, that may be just enough to entice me! I only play a couple of hours a week, so a Live subscription has never been all that worth it to me...

I've played the demo for forza motorsport and a cool thing about the game is the brakes heat up and glow when u brake to hard and the brakes lock up if u brake to hard (different cars lock up at different times) im really looking foward to the game anyway cya

I bought the game and enjoyed it thoroughly, and decided to sign up for Live with the free starter kit that comes with the game...
Now I no longer enjoy it, I am addicted to it! Soooooo much fun to try to tune your car to the top of its class and take it to the track and race against 7 different cars driven by players around the world that took a different route to the same goal you had! Awesome... |

Nope, Shiny was apparently already taken. On Live its DougalMcGuire.
I still don't know how the whole friends thing works, how to add them to your list (or even where your list is!) or how to see if they are online and what game they're playing... so any help in that arena would be much appreciated! |

The NSX is a monster. If you can run well with that car, it gains a lot of respect on the track!!!

I'll buy this tomorrow, provided I am paid of course!
Can you use custom soundtracks? |

You can, the standard sound track has a lot of 70's, 80's rock music which is kinda cool (if you are from that era like me )

Excellent, uploading my Metallica CD's tonight then. Although the music may be great anyways, if it's that kind of era you mention Rob.

A nice touch about the custom soundtrack is that it plays right through the loading screen (unless you are racing on Live...). So you get a nice, uninterupted stream of music the whole time!

i should get it in the next few weeks, but i was just wondering what the handling is like, is it comparable to pgr2 for instance, or is it more realistic.
plus i can't wait to drive the ferrari 330p4 on this, first time i've come across one in a computer game. |

It is more realistic than PGR2, much more so. Setting up your car is becoming increasingly important, too, as the online competition is really starting to heat up.
Handling is effected by tire wear and temp as well as fuel load. Braking distances are much more realistic than PGR2, and the cars feel 'heavier' than the arcade-ish handling of PGR2. |
