Wout should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
MCD plans new GT1 car for 2007
Accoording to THIS article, Al Melling is due to launch a new supercar with a GT1 version for Le Mans 2007.
(..to challenge Vipers )

Milling the engine out of a block? Sounds great to me, working in an aircraft milling plant
Someone nows the alloy? Think they need a thick plate and normaly there is a problem with some alloys to get them very thick

Al Melling is a great designer of car engines, he has the pedigree. However, to date he has not produced a car of any shape or form, other than the current Hellcat prototype, which is a complete botch up job, he simply he has no experience, for this reason the Melling Hellcat will never appear in Le mans.

I guess its a typo but it said "Le Mans in 2007" and I didn't see it there this year!

haha typo indeed.

actually, it was an invisible contender.

sounds good, but also sounds like it wont happen, if the prototype is as botched as judgefudge says.

Maybe not a typo; the article was datelined May 2006.

Also note this from Feb 2007 Car Magazine :-

"This year the Hellcat team will go to Le Mans ‘to have a look’, next year ‘to have a go’ - and in 2009 they will ‘go to win’. Melling has his sights set very high"

Not saying it has a chance though...

yup Melling - nice chap but what was his last big project? the Lola F1 engine of 1997 - that worked well. 6 litre v10? is that Lola litre V10 x 2
