the secon jordan seat now belongs to sato?
reports indicate that the second jordan seat most probably now belongs to takuma sato. where does this leave wilson and narain testing roles for both or one of them perhaps?

it's definitely obvious. and the way takuma was waving bye bye to the crowd on the warm down lap of the last f3 race at the weekend, it's gotta be a dead cert.

It wouldn't be a supprise to see Taku get the job, I guess it'll give him the opportunity to prove (or not) whether he's as god as I think he is. I hope its true, but I'd be equally happy if Justin Wilson got the drive. Presumably its now between Narain and Justin for the second testing role alongside Zonta.

It's not yet official:
Takuma Sato on his way to Jordan? But what about Wilson? (source: f1-live.com) http://www.f1-live.com/f1-2001/en/he...03070314.shtml |

Basically, Sato is both very good and has a supply of Honda engines stapled to his arse. Faced with the possibility of powering Japan's first potential F1 winner and maybe even champion to their first win I can't imagine them choosing BAR.
Remember, Frentzen was sacked the week BAR announced their driver line-up for next year. |

I hadn't made that connection either. Sounds like it's all coming together for Takuma at last.

Sato all set for Jordan seat in 2002 ?
"Clearly Jordan wouldn't test Justin again if they weren't interested in evaluating him with more time in the car," (source: autosport.com) |

This is not a good situation. Gifted British driver gettin clsoe to a deserved top ride, but losing out due to sponsorship reasons to yet another monied Japanese. Sato appears to be good, but the UK F3 championship is notoriously fixed in Honda's favour this year. That said I think Justin still has a hope of getting the drive though, if he's faster than Alesi he should be in.

Talent wise, its a toss up between Wilson and Sato, though IMO Sato may have more potential, as well as other obvious advantages when you're in a battle to hold on to works Honda engines.
