What? (Saleens may not be able to race at Monza!!)
from the FIA GT site:
four Saleen cars - the nr 4 Konrad Motorsport, nr 5 Vitaphone Racing and nr 7 and 8 RML cars - will not be allowed to participate in qualifying, warm-up or the race, unless a favourable new inspection is passed before the FIA Technical Delegate i really hope they will get everything straightned out! |

i hope they can fix it. who knows it could be something simple. the FIA cant afford to only have 20 cars on the grid!

Does this problem not effect the GN saleen then? It is bound to be an unchallenged Ferrari Victory with no Saleens, shouldnt all of this been sorted weeks ago?

Whatever it is, let's just hope it's sorted pretty quickly- it's odd that it doesn't appear to affect the Nash car, so unless there is more than one problem with some of the individual cars, I'm guessing it must involve some modification or upgrade on the Konrad and RML cars that isn't on the GNM car

yea, the Konrad cars have been upgraded heavily. (As have the Mike Newton Cars= RML) so i guess thats it. DSC said that they assume that the 2 Well-run teams will get it fixed. I have faith in them.

dsc has the Morning Qualifying Times of today (Saturday) and the Saleens are in there, so I guess this crisis has passed.

yes, i was going to say the exact thing. but look at the results from session 1? really messed up if you ask me. Look where Bobbi is (BMS #1) the 99 and 50 had problems, so did the 14, and the 8 got d/q'ed for some reason. just strange. i expect session 2 times will be quicker. (they usually are not, but when they ran session 1, the track was still slightly wet)

well, maybe some bad news now:
Michael from the LMSR site talked to an offical at the track and he said it could go deeper than just interpretation of the rules (as in politics)... so it sounds like the problems havent been fixed. i hope they will let them race! |

I would have thought this Championship needs as much variety as it can muster at the moment. Other than shed loads of Porsche and Ferrari's the Saleens are a welcome addition. Plus they sound good to. Red tape is my guess with Ferrari Logo over it!

ok, the problem was "bodywork seals" i guess it was something to do with the rear engine cover. I the rear window area could come open with a clip or something, and the FIA didnt like that. whatever it was, everything is fixed, and all the saleens will be on the grid tomorrow
