Yes, Tucker's lost one of his LMPCs, looks like something broke while braking into 10.

Audi changed the driver rotation such that McNish will do the last stint...

OK so the 3 Audi's and Peugeot's are all back on the same pit sequence. Now it's just a straight fight. Seems that Audi has chosen to put McNish in for the final stint in the dark. Smart choice IMO

It's now officially forbidden for sports car fans to mock NASCAR for having too much cautions.
Seriously, why do we need to have a caution for every single spin? A local yellow would work just fine.. |

It's not for every spin, it's because the cars are stuck in a dangerous area.

D'oh...
Yet another neutralisation. When will we be able to get more than 15 mn of race? I guess it's time for #7 to pit, and maybe let Mc Nish get to the end, as we're approx four stints from checkered. |

But this is just a joke and it destroys the otherwise good racing. |

I feel like I've only watched about three hours of actual racing of the six passed!

I think it has to do with the overly litigious nature of North America meaning things can't be done under local yellow. I find it fairly myself.

Yep. However I feel that one was sensible, whith the Porsche lying in the hardest braking zone of the track, but the preceding one for the FLM car stopped out of the line was really coming out of the blue... At least it provides good restarts, which are good fun. |

And they'd have to bring the truck out into the same dangerous area to tow it out. What part of "dangerous area" do you seem to not be understanding?

I know safety is important but is there really any need for this many Safety Car periods? I feel like I've been watching more of the race under the safety car than under green flag racing, this over the top safety car deploying is starting to tarnish the whole race IMO.

Local yellow wont stop cars from having tire or break failures there like some have today.

What are the chances of another car spinning right there knowing the yellow is out? And first and foremost, why does it work in Europe without hordes of marshalls being killed every year? The safety thing is an excuse to have the tightened up by these cautions...something sports car fans mock NASCAR for. |

I don't know, what are the chances of cars into a heavy braking zone suffering failures or mistakes, regardless of a caution flag. This is racing after all, especially endurance racing, so these things are still highly likely. Most European circuits don't have the massive sand traps that Road Atlanta has. Therefore cars that spin off can resume without a problem. |
