Should AGS Motorsport build a new Audi A4 for the 2002 ETCC for Roberto Colciago?
I think the ETCC needs Roberto Colciago behind the wheel of an Audi. The team has the skill to build a car themselves.

Roberto at the wheel of an Alfa just wouldn't be right. He has to drive a Audi or even a VW Bora/Passat. AGS could build one for him.

Are you talking about a ST or SP+ based A4? If it's an A4, would it be worth all the money? The '02 ETCC has both classes running together if my memory is working?

kmchow, ETCC 2002 has SP and SP+ (Super 2000) running together, not ST anymore.

Whoa, so that only leaves the STCC as the being the only full ST series left?
The only other series you can see some ST cars are now the Formula Saloons, French touring car series, and hopefully the Aussie GTP series??? |

Super Tourers in Aussie GTP? Where did you hear this?
I suppose that the best thing for AGS would be to hold back any plansd to build a new regulation Audi until 2003, when the real Super 2000 rules are introduced. 2002 is just a Super Prod plus called Super 2000, but not the realthing. That's my understanding, anyway. But I still think that AGS should build an VW-group car for Colciago for season 2003, and hopefully encourage VW or Audi into some sort of ABT DTM-style semi-works arrangement. In the meantime, a Alfa deal is probably best for Colciago. It will be very interesting to see him in [hopefully] equal equipment to Larini and Giovanardi |

Perhaps as the season draws closer, we may hear more about this? VW should race their Bora in the new '03 Super 2000 rules, but I believe that car is soon to be replaced or updated?? So I guess the likelihood of that happening is very low. OTOH, they already have some GrpN-ish Boras racing around already??? There's one racing over here in the US. |
