glyn parham should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Further to Jeremy's last post, Snetterton 1969 was the Good Friday meeting and Thruxton was the F2 meeting, all held over the Easter weekend.
Possible reason for the odd days difference is that some mmetings were held over two or three days and races could have been held in two parts (At Brands Hatch the only non two part race in 1970 was the Grand Prix support)
Thanks to Jeremy for saving me the effort to find all the dates I had in a rather crowded attic!

Craig. Time for a correction. Races were held at both Goodwood and Oulton Park on the 17 September (see also 1971). Jim Clark won at Goodwood and Chris Craft at Oulton Park, but don't believe all the dates printed in Touring Car Year, it is not well researched.

Glyn, can you confirm the correction for me? Which date are we correcting and can we confirm the two races took place on 17/9/71, yes? Thanks.

Craig,

I assume there were 2 races at different locations on Sept. 17th 1966.
Glyn was just saying this was similar to what happened in 1971 (On April 9)

Sorry for any confusion caused guys, its just that my 1966 calender only showed Oulton Park, not Goodwood as well.
As Jeremy spotted the same thing happened in 1971 when the classes were split and sent to different circuits to race.
I hope we are all clear again.

I'm not confident of Goodwood September 17 1966. Why? Because Goodwood had already closed for one thing.

Also, both classes, over and under 1300cc ran at Oulton Park, Chris Craft won the tiddlers in an Anglia and Jim Clark took a Lotus Cortina to win the bigger division. Craig, it's never possible you relied on the Ford Touring Car Victories list which they handed out when Radisich scored a milestone win a few years back? That one has caught me out on a few occasions and it does record Craft's victory as being at Goodwood.

Trust me - Chris Craft was at Oulton that day. I'm looking at the programme right now!

Oh, and while on the 1966 season, Brands October 30th was held as a replacement to the April 2nd date which was snowed off!

Very possible Tim, though I'm not certain, but I did use that list quite early on when compiling previous racedates.

Thanks for the information.

I believe that the 1/2 August meeting was actually at Snetterton.

Craig,

I don't have any Autosports for 1987 handy, but my notes say the race was originally scheduled for Snetterton, but at some point moved to Oulton. Thundersports & Wendy Wools Saloons ran at Snetterton on that day. However, if you have anything definite for Oulton, I stand corrected!

This is where I'm at with this at present. There are still some gaps - especially in the earlier years - and I welcome any contributions as always!

Wherever possible I have included the round number for the event. Again anyhelp to fill in the gaps is appreciated.

I went to most of the '84 rounds, looks like you're missing The Euro F3 round at Silverstone in June which Rouse won and was the last race that ARG officially did in BTCC. Also there's a snetterton round to slot in after the Brtiish GP round i think. I'll check my season review and pop em on here.

Anyone found any '79, '81 and '83 reviews i can have yet?!

Craig.
Some alterations and added info for you.
1965 - 30 August. Race was held at Brands Hatch, not Silverstone.
The 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969 and 1970 August Bank Holiday races at Brands Hatch were all part of the Guards International Meeting.
1967 - The 29 October meeting was called the Guards Motor Show 200.
1970 Race of Champions meeting, the saloon race was 2x20 lap heats and sponsored by Guards (there's a surprise then).
1970 International Trophy Meeting was held on 26th April according to my race programme
1970 - 31 August was 2x20 lap heats , race sponsored by the Evening News.
1973 - Add this event to your list, the Tourist Trophy counted for both ETCC and BTCC. 2x2 hour races held at Silverstone on 23 September.
1977 - Add this date to the calender. 29 August 1977 at Brands Hatch.
Hope this all helps.

Have so far found for 1984:
Mar 25 Donington (Euro F3 meet) Soper Pole, Rouse Win
Apr 1 Silverstone (F2) Rouse pole, Pond win
Apr 20 Oulton Park Weaver pole, Weaver win
Apr 23 Thruxton Rouse pole, Rouse win
May 28 Thruxton Rouse pole, Soper win?
Jun 10 Silverstone (Euro F3 Raceday) Pond pole, Rouse win.
Jul 1 Snetterton Rouse, Rouse
Jul 22 Brands Rouse, Rouse
Aug 27 Brands, Rouse, Percy?
Sep 16 Donington, Rouse, Rouse
Oct 7 Silverstone, Rouse, Brodie?

Dates are correct, but couple of results not so sure?

Okay, another query on 1979. Originally I had it down as a 13 round series which had at least one meeting cancelled. But can anyone confirm which was cancelled and whether a replacement was scheduled in or whether the series was reduced to 12 rounds?

Code:
1	18th March	Brands Hatch
2	25th March	Silverstone	International Trophy F2
3	13th April	Oulton Park
4	14-16 April	Thruxton	European F2
5	28th May	Silverstone
6	24th June	Donington Park
7	14th July	Silverstone	British GP
8	12th August	Mallory Park
9	19th August	Donington Park
10	27th August	Brands Hatch
11	9th September	Thruxton	Aurora British F1
12	23rd September	Snetterton
13	29th September	Oulton Park
I now know for certain that round 1 was cancelled but I had been told previously that is was round 2. Was the person who told me mistaken or was round 2 (the International Tropy meeting) subsequently cancelled as well?

Thanks in advance - I think I'm finally breaking the back of this. Apart from the first four years, that is, which TimD had warned me was taxing even him!

Craig,

Don't know which one it was, as I don't have reports for all rounds, but as the May & July Silverstone rounds were reported ars rounds 4 & 6, with Mallory round 7, I think we can safely assume it was 1 OR 2, not both, so if you're happy it was round 1...

Sorry I can't help more
